Great beer, nice selection of pub grub.. friendly start.. big beer garden

Great vibe with live music (Pat & The Butchers) on a Sunday night. Lovely outdoor space and area.
Bar staff busy and friendly. Just keep an eye on folk pushing in when busy and all play nicely at the bar.

Let me just say, thank you. These guys are super helpful, really attentive and the beer garden is huge. Alfie was great and I would recommend everyone to swing by here. Another great pub of St Alban's!!

Lovely establishment, Staropramen on tap as well as wide ale and lager selection. Dogs friendly.

23/11/2019: photo upload from a trip to Hemel Hempstead to visit friends. Annually we do an Ale Trail and 2019 was a St. Albans Ale Trail. The Mermaid was along the way.

Great cider and gin selection, as well as changing Ale's on cask. A traditional pub with a great welcoming atmosphere. Great music on a Sunday too! Been my local since 2016 ❤️

I had a wheat beer in this bar. The taste was fine, but the smell was off. When I complained about it, I was told that the beer was fine. When I asked for another beer I was told to pay for it. I was never offered to taste the beer before I had it, contrary to what the owner commented on another review.

The Mermaid is a good pub !!! just been outside on current lockdown and it was very busy, all tables outside were full
Drinks menu is very nice ,plenty of beers and ciders....
Food was on a different company I guess , everything chicken related .... Try the chicken waffle!!!
