Had a weekday lunch here. Very nice place.
Friendly , attentive staff. High standards of food and service. Good choice on the menu.
Nice interior furniture and layout.
I recommend The Swan. I'm going to return and try the evening and weekend times too.
I am sure I will enjoy them too. My notes will be updated.

Family birthday celebration early evening for 5 and a toddler of 17 months. Great food, generous portions and excellent service. Keep up the good work, we'll be back xx

Don’t travel without checking the mgrs whim or wind direction, they are actually closed

Very poor service, frosty and ambivalent staff and an entrenched ‘I don’t want customers’ approach to running a pub.

Last orders prior to covid meant a fixed and regular closing time subject to a seriously quiet night. Since covid it means, nah we want to go home and you can too, go home. Twice I’ve bothered to walk here after work with guests and twice I’ve been told nope, closed. When was 19:30 a closing time??

Question: How can we give you money to help your post covid recovery if you close too early and stop us from spending with you? You can try the financial argument about staff costs and client sales but I’ve read your accounts. I’m looking forward to 2022’s as well. You’ve got a good nbv with cash in hand. Once I find the other pubs’ accounts I’ll update this post. You could stay open and breathe life back into this area. You received covid relief, and what, NOW you don’t want to be a pub?

If that is true and that you don’t want to be a pub, according to your accounts and those of your estates company and it’s holding company, I’d suggest the rot appears some time around 2015. Gosh, what a fall from the heady, full pub, happy customers and full tills of way back when you’ve managed to turn away. Those cash tills don’t ring like they did once…we can see, online for free!!!!

Won’t labour the details, but it’s not rocket science to develop a guess as to why you’ve declined…(obvs company info free and online these days). Or fix it and stay open and attract guests by allowing custom????

The fourth most popular attraction in Leicestershire has the most unwelcoming, the most client inconveniencing and consumer sovereignty contra view of service I’ve encountered in years.

Thanks for nothing, twice over.

Friendly staff, one of the best pub pizzas we've had in a good while and Heineken on tap. All good

I had the worse food I’ve had in a long while at the swans last night …after really looking forward to a nice meal out …as I had previously had at the Swan . The menu was very basic … we had to order at the bar and pay for our food before we got it and we didn’t even get shown to our table … just told to sit anywhere. I had barely got back to the table from ordering and our food was being brought out to us …. Very suspicious!!! We’d ordered three bowls…tempura prawns , garlic mushroom (no garlic insight and even the dip was just plain mayo) and what was meant to be halloumi fries .. ( just deep fried over cooked cold and hard bits of halloumi) but we were assured every thing was freshly cooked !!! There was no salad varnish in sight . The five small halloumi fry’s worked out at £1 each …. No cutlery was given and when we expressed out disappointment at the over priced bland Food we just got a non genuine sorry .As you can imagine we will not be wasting our money on food there again , which is a shame as the pub is lovely inside . Not the standard I was expecting and totally overpriced for the small bowls of frozen and deep fried brought in food we actually got …. It’s certainly not the restaurant it use to be more like a canteen .

Last week we had a lovely drink. Perfect pint of Landlord and Morretti. Not so good last night but will return because it’s a great pub, very friendly and good service.
