My first visit here. Fantastic food! Came in tonight and took advantage of the BOGOF Burgers for Friday. Absolutely delicious and every allergy and intolerance was accounted for. Very open-planned, lots of space in the bar area and the service was absolutely faultless! Very friendly and caring staff.

Well worthy of a second visit and more!

I dont like to leave negative feedback where possible however I feel this review is needed.

I am putting 1 star as its not possible to leave 0 star review when myself and my partner visited earlier today for our lunch before collecting the kids from school.

On arrival it was quickly apparent the staff looked as if they didn't want to be at work, we found our own table which we originally didn't mind doing.

When we ordered our food the staff at the bar was very quick to tell us what we originally wanted wasn't available, we understood this and choose another dish.

When our food came the drinks seemed flat which was not a good start, the food looked as if it had been scrapped together from yesterday's off cuts, the "garnish" of peppers and onions looked as if it was a 2 min microwave job and looked to be congealed on the plate.

The sauce usually in most restaurants or pub grub places was already poured on the plate when usually you got a gravy boat or jug to pour your own.

The fish looked as if it was frozen and thrown in a deep fat fryer however advertised as "hand cooked"

My partner also had to point out more of the veg on my plate looked as if it had been thrown in a bin and placed on my plate.

In all we came away very disappointed and not satisfied at all and will not be returning to eat here, we are not food snobs and expected pub grub but this looked as if it was yesterday's food refried and veg that was going off.

We would of normally complained to staff but they seemed unapproachable and we didn't want to cause a scene for others.

Definitely not recommended and won't be returning to eat here which is a shame as we enjoyed it previously under different management.

Came for a meal 28th August around 6pm, place wasn't that busy at the time. Asked the manager if there was a table available to seat us at as we was group of 8. Got a very bad attitude back to us "I don't know I'm too busy at the minute" then walked off to deal with some staff. Didn't return to us so we left and went down the road a mile to the next Green King chain pub and what a difference in staff and atmosphere. Giving them a 2 star rating as the place looked clean and tidy but the manager ruined it.

Food was perfect. We went on Tuesday and deal pick and mix pick a main side n 2 sides I had gammon chips onion rings hot hot sauce. When it arrived there where 3 5oz gammon a huge pile of chips all for 7quid. Staff very attentive to Yr needs polite. Very reasonable wait for food as cooked to order. Even serve decent coffee.

Moved to this area this week. Been in a few times for drinks or food. Ordering on the app is highly recommended. Fast service. Food was hot and tasty and good value. The pub seems short staffed for the amount of customers. However, the staff are friendly and hard working. I’d recommend you order on the app and you’ll get served quickly. Thanks to all the staff for making it a pleasant experience.

Ordered full English breakfast didn't receive anything that would be considered as an English breakfast 🤨😕, considering how much they charged per meal the food what not up to scratch, their were staff you just had to search the whole pub for them 🤯 last thing we wanted to do myself and my boss was search for staff. Coffee machine wasn't working and still they charged us the same price as they did for machine coffee 🤨☹️ was not impressed will not be going there again.

The Restaurant: This is a lovely example of a Hungry Horse restaurant. It's well staffed, comfortable, warm and welcoming. Plenty of room for parking, good size bar area and plenty of room for dining with the family. They also have several large screens with which to watch sporting events with your friends and celebrate or commiserate accordingly.

Externally: Connected to a main road it has good access and plenty of parking including plenty of decently sized disabled bays.

There is plenty of external seating in a rather pleasant area next to the car park and tucked around the back of the restaurant, means you can enjoy the better weather and a refreshing drink.

The Food: Good quality food is served fresh and daily. They have daily deals also available which are excellent value for money, I can especially recommend going on a Wednesday for the Curry Wednesdays offer.

Overall:

I cannot recommend the Hungry Horse restaurants enough, be it for watching a sport event, a meal with the whole family, your partner or just a few friends, it caters for all.

The Cherry Tree is an EXCELLENT example of a Hungry Horse restaurant and honestly the staff should be very proud of themselves, their hard work clearly shows.

Love the place
