First visit since The Riser takeover for our church gardening group. Very pleasing particularly 50% off weekdays deal. Food very good. The fresh berries jus with the duck inspired. Owners own brews voted good. Service also good including customer rapport. Lighting could be strengthened. Or else print menus in larger fonts!
We are booking for the end of the month and including a birthday lunch.

We have previously really enjoyed the food at The Rising Sun and always recommended it to friends and family but sadly its really gone down hill. We last visited a couple of Sundays ago, we had booked a table for 7pm. Three of the party ordered roast dinners, when they arrived there was hardly any gravy on them so we politely asked for some more. We were told 'no we've run out'. If we'd of know that in advance we would've ordered something else from the menu. The other two people in the group ordered the cod, a previous favourite of mine but it was so dry and had no flavour. The staff didn't seem interested or bothered that we were unhappy. Sadly, we won't be returning for a while.

We only had a main course but the food was really tasty and well presented. Lovely evening. Love the new marquee in the garden too.

Food took a very long time to arrive. The atmosphere was very loud. They were short on staff for the number of tables they had crammed in.
Very little choice if you had allergies. The dish I received had a lot removed and not a lot put back on and I was still charged £18.95. Which is steep for prepackaged pub food.
Other food was mediocre.
They did take some money off but there was no manager working a Friday.

Great food, great drinks, and they even have dog treats for the furry pooches you bring along. 10/10 loved this pub

Went here for a Christmas meal. Food was excellent, the staff were kind and gave us just the right amount of attention.

An excellent selection of beers were available, many session ales and IPAs. Clean modern and bright.

Firstly I would like to thank all the staff who served my party on Christmas day. They were brilliant. 12 of us occupied the private room upstairs for the afternoon seating (which is great if you have kids) and we've looked after very well considering the complete lack of staff vs the volume of bookings for that day, which I could only put down to poor planning from head office along with staff illnesses. When we finally received the food, it was average and was either dry, lacking in veg/gravy or heavily delayed (maybe this was due to being the last table to be served) but as our total bill was close to £1,000, we've expecting slightly better quality from what sounded like a well put together menu. I'm sure the food is of a higher standard on a average day but it felt like they bit off more than they could chew and this in mind, I wouldn't rebook for this Christmas.

Booked for England game, checked 3 times the table was near a TV which was confirmed but they failed to mentioned the TV was outside in -2 degrees. Awful. When suggesting it may be a useful item to let people know the booking is outside when booking, I was asked by a member of staff if 'all of my limbs were still there'
