Excellent staff. Good real ale. Live sports venue. Lovely smelling food Dog friendly if that's you thing. Big outdoor drinking area. Large car park for designated driver. Well recommended.

This is the family's usual go to pub for food. Yesterday we decided to do the steak fondue challenge. Steak was cooked to perfection was good quality too. The amount of food on this platter for £20 is unbelievable value.
The only criticism I would give is they allow dogs to be anywhere in the pub. Which for people pile my husband and daughter is a problem as they are allergic. Maybe a separate section needs to be dedicated to dogs so it doesn't effect everyone else.

Called by chance on Sunday lunch, I ate off the steak menu, and had perfect medium rare steak, my friend chose Scampi from the live well menu, which came with a nice fresh salad, there was plenty of choices on the menu! We both topped it off with a very welcome Eton mess, as it was a hot day outside, must point out the temperature inside was about perfect and the staff were super welcoming and friendly! Woul recommend and return again

Really nice food, warm and comfortable surroundings. We got our starter pretty quickly but did have a 45 minute wait for our mains. I had the mixed grill which was lovely apart from the sausage which was awful. Loved the fact it's dog friendly too

We went to Shovels for our tea on New years eve. The atmosphere was so good we stayed the night.
The food was perfect. We ordered the 32oz Rump steak challenge and even though my wife and I shared it we still struggled.
My Wife enjoyed the pink gin doubled up for just £1.50 (Can't fault that) and me the driver tried to enjoy a pint of shandy.
The service was spot on and made this choice of venue the perfect night out.
