A lovely atmosphere here with fast, friendly service with a smile.
Food was excellent with a good, if not relatively common, selection available. Reasonably priced with good accompanying selection of beverages of all descriptions. I was treated to a very good bottle of wine (photo attached) which is well worth a try.
Warm, cosy, friendly and unhurried. A real delight and will definitely return for more.

Good pubs come to those who travel to Plaxtol. As soon as I popped my head into the Papermakers Arms I knew I was in the right place. The interior is modern, bright, but still has that country feel given the hearth and historic photographs. I loved reading the stories dotted on the walls; they invite the customer to not just a pub, but an institution.
I also loved the decor of the tables; the Papermakers Arms leather table mats, candles and flower arrangements are beautiful.
With all the poignant details, it was predictable the food would follow the same
Qualities. Right I was; each dish was splendidly presented and prepared. There was thought put into the plates the food was showcased upon.
I loved the service, down to earth, professional and caring. This was up there with the best pub food experiences of my life.

Lovely little country pub. Excellent food and friendly service. Easy online booking. Only gripe is a lack of parking, but think that's common of the area. Would definitely reccomend.

A very attractive pub and restaurant with nicely spaced tables inside and out. Some less run of the mill dishes on offer at reasonable prices. Very accommodating letting us share a starter and mains which was plenty given our smaller appetites and their generous portions. We have visited before when walking but this was a pleasant lunchtime meal well served and thoroughly enjoyed. Not local for us but would definitely recommend and drive out here again in the future.

We were visiting a National Trust property near-by and wanted to eat either before or after our visit. Turned out the pub was doing a Hog Roast event with music that evening. It turned out to be a smashing event. We sat in the pub gardens which were great. Great food, well priced . Pleasant attentive staff. And....lovely live music.

Fortunately we arrived early so were able to park in the somewhat small car park. However when we came to leave we were totally blocked in by an assortment of vehicles simply parked anywhere they pleased. It took several tricky manoeuvres and patience to get out of the place . Still it didn't damp down our enjoyment of the day and the experience in the pub.

After many years, of eating out lunchtimes ,found this pub in Plaxtol, I can wholeheartedly say a very good experience, the food was a delight to eat especially the fish and chips(Haddock), and the prawn Thai curry!
It's a little pricy but worth the money.
It is well worth the visit

Had our Christmas Lunch yesterday it was lovely nice chilled atmosphere, very good service at the right pace didn’t feel rushed.

Minor thing not so keen on my desert the Mille Feuille, but everything else was delicious.
