A cesspit of a pub .

Having worked here as a humble teenager for 3 years proudly cleaning , gardening and cooking I was gutted to see the state of the pub and primarily the toilets when visiting with my children on Saturday afternoon . The garden is pleasant enough if you like tatty umbrellas and parents smoking over their children . The carpets and toilets are the same ones I cleaned 20 years ago , nothing to dry hands with and the wall paper is falling off on along the stairs . A staff member did speak to those in the garden to ask them to make sure their children left the toilets in a better state , obviously unaware of the expression " You can't polish a turd !" I can't find a trip advisor page to upload my pictures or information on the brewery owners , but they should hang their heads in shame for the upkeep of what could be a beautiful building and the disgusting state it currently resides in .

Avoid

Fantastic traditional English pub. Roaring fire, great local ales and very welcoming, friendly staff. Throughly recommend.

Great pub serving many different beers. Not too loud to hold a normal conversation and not too busy to move around. Friendly staff make it even better and well worth a visit

Had a lovely meal for Mothers Day, thank you Noah for the amazing service, you are lovely, so helpful and cheerful, a credit to this pud.

This pub is very welcoming . The staff are really nice and friendly. The meals are excellent, you can eat inside or out. There is a childs play area at the back of the garden, tho there are tables closer to the pub so you dont get disturbed by children. They have music nights which are great

Good pub, good ale, nice bunch of dart players (even though they beat us) and food was very good.

Friendly efficient service, great value food, especially enjoyed the Thai dishes. Nice big garden with plenty of outdoor seating. We'll definitely return.
