The atmosphere here is unique, people are friendly and considerate, the beer is great for a reasonable price and the barman a professional.
I've found a new place where I'll go to contemplate.

Good selection of beverages. Great staff. Pool table, big screen sports (temporarily suspended in the current climate of panic) ... And a jukebox that isn't always on minimum!! Smoking and seating areas to front and rear. Best thing though is it's a working class pub with a great atmosphere!!! Pop in for a Swifty :-)

On a Monday, not crowded. Pleasant place with many whiskies and gins and well kept beers. Not on the main drag of Stevenage Old Town, but an easy distance from the High Street.

Was quite a nice little boozer until an overweight, self opinionated man decided that everyone within about 1 mile had to share his opinions and his depleted vocabulary. This sort of behavior is unacceptable anywhere but especially in a place where people are trying to relax and have a pleasant chat.
It is not the first time this same person has acted in this way and if he cannot control himself then he needs to be barred.
I for one will not visit again.

The Dun Cow is a pub my Uncle has been a patron of for almost my whole life. This pub has seen a fresh coat of paint and remodeling since the last time I saw it 12 years ago! Friendly staff, nice owners, lots on draft, and a good place to support the local neighbourhood. 👍

At the back of the old town this is a quiet really friendly boozer. Traditional pub. Excellent barmaid and friendly chatting locals. Visited it's sister pub, 'The Bricklayers' in Hitchin. Same friendly style.

For a local pub during these hard times this pub has more than reached expectations. Some other Pubs can't claim the same. Some pubs need to be recognised as very hard working and constantly trying to keep the British Pub alive. We all keep praising the NHS workers and so we should but the Local Pub is also being hurt. The closing of pubs will only mean more people drink at home. This in itself will result in more arguments between partners. And more chances of domestic violence. Gone are the days when a person could just walk away and enter a public house for a drink and some calm down time. Without this escape route where do they go?
