Food was delicious and arrived quickly. The staff were happy to help and a delightful to talk to, however the speed of service, getting the bill, waiting for menus ect could have been a bit faster.

The inside of the pub is lovely. Food was alright. We had beef and pork Sunday roast. Both were not bad, however the potatoes were hard and the pork slides were a bit on the thin side. We also ordered a plant based burger from the children's menu it was a good portion for the children meal. Overall it was okay, food service time was pretty quick.

Service was excellent, the staff are friendly and attentive. We were served by Josie.
The food is delicious without breaking the bank, I highly recommend their whitebait.
The atmosphere is gorgeous and the establishment is clean and well decorated.

Visited four weeks ago with a party of two for lunch. We were told there would be a long wait for a table and a longer wait to be served, but we could sit outside. We tried that, but it started to get chilly so we went back inside after a few minutes and were seated right away and surprised to be in a room full of mostly empty tables. A server came by quickly, my companion ordered a burger and I ordered a fried chicken burger. The burger was plain, but okay. My chicken burger was inedible. The bun was grilled to dark black charcoal with a tablespoon of BBQ sauce. There were a few small pieces of chopped lettuce and nothing else. There were three small fingers of formed, breaded chicken, obviously premade frozen, not fresh. They were cooked to death, hard, dry and dark brown. There was also a small bit of unidentifiable melted cheese. This meal was totally inedible. It took some time to flag down the server to get our check. When she finally came around, I informed her I couldn't eat my meal. She went off to talk to the manager. I received no apology or offer of something else to eat. They did remove my meal from the check and I headed home to fix something to eat. It was a nice location and nicely decorated inside, but I won't be back nor would I recommend the place to anyone that is hungry.

This place was truly exceptional. The fish and chips here were perhaps some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. They were the perfect temperature and the batter was deliciously crispy. The chips are also fantastic too. So, I’d recommend that. The burgers were also very nice. The humous and pita bread is okay, but wasn’t anything to write home about. I really liked that this place had a wide variety of different soft and alcoholic drinks, especially Fentimans’ branded stuff. I thought the place had a wonderful vibe, and the staff were extremely friendly and kind. I would absolutely come here again, and I’d recommend it to anyone. The prices are more expensive than your standard pub, but not ridiculously so. I’d say that for the quality it’s definitely worth it.

One Hour Time Slots for Restaurant Dining...!!

Booked a 4pm table for New Year's Eve... Waitress was friendly, nice pie and a pint arrived quickly and interesting decor in the restaurant.

But... considering the Holly Blue Manager or Assistant Manager who ever was on duty with the plaster cast wanted the restaurant cleared of customers by 5pm to set-up for New Years Eve event. She could have used some customer service skills to contact us to warn either to come in slightly earlier or expect to be rushed through our meal. Wasn't expecting to stay till midnight, but 2 Hours is a normal dining slot? (Check out the level in my drinks, to see how quickly they wanted us out). Possibly "Hall and Wood House" needs to review their management training course...?

Apr '22 - Exceptional Sunday Roast and great staff. Roast beef was delicious, AMAZING Yorkshire puddings and Pigs in Blankets!!!! Desserts were also unforgettable. We've already booked for Xmas (it's April). Keep up the good work!

Updated Dec' 22 - Disappointing. Waitress was lovely but the food was a big let down. Pie not as described on the menu and Yorkshire puddings were from a shop. Rating changed from 5 to 3.
