Blue Bell’s the “got it all” pub in Emsworth village in terms of good quality drinks selection, good pub food and atmosphere. There’s aways a decent selection of beers on tap, relatively ok wine list (actually pretty good as far as English pubs go) and quite a wide range of gin. 90% of the time Blue Bell makes a mean burger, top notch fish and chips (90% of the time), tasty fish pie and more… basically the kitchen’s good and more consistent than the other pubs in town.
The nautical decor and group of chatty locals create a good atmosphere for anyone who is looking for a relaxing sea side village feel in their pub.

Great pub. Amazing food. Excellent service. Really good selection of fish dishes as well as other choices. Highly recommend.

Well, what à find. Absolutely heaving on a Monday evening. Good job we booked a table. The whole experience was first class, and the young staff are so polite and switched on. Will definitely be recommending and re-visiting.

Whilst the food was ok, the service was some what lacking. After making a booking earlier in the day we was put on a table adjacent to the toilet door, so every 5 minutes we got the delightfully overpowering smell of the mens toilets, NOT NICE as you can imagine. Waited nearly 30 minutes for some olives which we ordered as a snack whilst we waited for our mains, had to ask more than once for drinks and when our mains finally arrived we had no cutlery. Again had to ask more than once for the dessert menu, and finally after two and half hours for a 2 course meal we got the bill and left feeling somewhat disappointed. Obviously lacking staff both front of house and in the kitchen, this could have been an amazing meal out had our table been located somewhere else and the service picked up the pace.

We visited yesterday (13/10) for lunch to celebrate my Mothers birthday having being passed the recommendation by a colleague, I’m pleased to say that “The bluebell” did not disappoint. Great food with a wonderful warm and friendly atmosphere, also exceptional service from the staff.
All the food is homemade with Thomas and his kitchen team producing delicious recipes that they have refined for the guests. We had salt and pepper squid to start, this was so fresh the coating was light and tasty. Also home baked bread and oil (you can’t go wrong with nice bread). Mom had king prawn salad for main and my daughter had rib eye steak both very fresh and the steak cooked perfectly. The stand out dish for me was mine, which was the beef brisket chilli. It was so tasty and I was pleased the chef was not afraid to use the right amount of heat. Thank you all we will definitely be back when we visit next. Michelle and family

Great choice of pub food, including a good specials board. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like was that we had to ask to be moved from the first table we were given positioned immediately outside the gent's toilet which we could smell each time the door opened and closed!
