The Windmill

Nice experience before departure: relaxing and not so crowded area upstairs, good burgers and beers (but there is much more on the menu). I appreciated the comfortable order & pay with the Wetherspoon app. Will definitely come directly to this place next time I pass through Stansted airport

Very busy but to be expected at the airport. We had breakfast which was served very quickly and enjoyed the unlimited coffee. It’s a very large pub with 2 huge floors.

We were absolutely AMAZED by how good the food tastes here!! Usually airport restaurants are rather okayish and not really fresh. But this restaurant exceeded all of our expectations. The pizza with sourdough bread was PERFECT. Just perfect. The indian dishes & salad were wonderful too. You have a big variety of drinks / beer at the bar. It’s self service, so you order via app or at the bar, as we did.
Also the place is huge with two floors and the service really fast. 5/5 recommend

Slightly underwhelmed by the attempts at this location calling itself The Windmill. No idea why it would call itself the Windmill in the middle of a departures hall !!
On my visit 08:30 Breakfast serving tables where vacant of people but where littered with dirty crockery.
I cleaned my own table and sanitised my hands with my own sanitiser as there was non on offer.
The staff behind the bar serving where fantastic, engaging humerus and knowledgeable with upselling at the same time.
After making my order I made my way to the coffee machine of which both where faulty and low on coffee and milk. By the time I got my coffee 15 minutes later my upside down egg and cheese muffin had been thrown on the plate and was on my table (see pic attached). Whilst it was warm and tasty I didn’t envisage having to put the muffin back together again due to large white of the egg .
This site was not busy during my visit however all staff kept busy with just one member of staff clearing tables.
Given the option and cost of this unit ( increased due to location ) it is not one I would choose above the others or cue for if other where empty given the quality and costing of the food. When a passenger comes on site they only have a certain amount of time (pending delays) and within that time they don’t usually expect to pay £3 over the asking price for one meal due to being forced into a departure lounge. Charge passengers to much and they will go else where, charge them same as the high street and and not as fools and they will return time and time again

love Wetherspoon pubs! That’s a place to grab a pint of ale before the departure.
Nice interior, polite staff, nice food and drinks. Recommend Ghost ship (citrus ale) and Doom bar (amber ale).

Impressive fast turnaround. 2 burgers served to the table in 10 minutes allowing ample time to enjoy them before we made our way on the shuttle to our gate. Taste: 4.5,/5. Speed 5/5, Service 5/5 (helpful, quick and polite), Serving Size: 4/5. Ease of finding a free and clean table: 4.5/5. Atmosphere: 4.5/5. Whenever we look at all the other decent options and the prices, we always return here and are never disappointed. The BBQ burger and Ultimate Burger were very nice.

We ate here on Boxing Day at about 5:30am. Service was quick, tables were clean, food was good. Obviously slightly pricey for a spoons as in airport but that’s not affecting my review. My only downside was there was no signs of a kids breakfast menu so we had to order an adults.

Really nice Wetherspoons the food and drinks were great and the staff were really polite. It’s very spacious and nice and chilled before your flight. It is a little more expensive than your standard Wetherspoons but that’s to be expected inside airport security. Definitely one of the best options to go for this side of security as it has so many options.
