First time at eating here although the person I was with has been many times. Very friendly waitress. Was also very clean. Would probably not have the hunters chicken again as a bit dry and bacon to salty for me. The chips were really nice. Would go back

Lovely lady who served us. Seemed to be the only one working. The turkey was delicious and the potatoes. But the beef was awful. Couldn't cut it and was really tough. Steak my son had was delicious. Very disappointed in mine.

Lovely place to stay, and good prices. The restaurant is across the car park, and is a great place to eat for breakfast, lunch, or evening meal. Really quiet hotel, and not near any main roads, so no noisy traffic passing. Staff are really helpful and friendly :-)

Excellent service from a very helpful and friendly waitress despite you having a staff shortage that day. Food was very good especially the carvery. All at a reasonable price. Good value for money which is why we have returned on several occasions.

We were served by Jasmine, who we had before on her first day! She was most attentive and helpful. The food was excellent; I had the carvery as I'd had other food from the menu before. Really lovely. The other members' food was also very nice.

Large comfortable room, with a very comfy bed. Reception were very nice and helpful. Have already booked another stay this week, as we have had a bereavement meaning I will be having to stay more often. This will be my first choice for future visits.

Pros - food was lovely
Cons - worse than poor customer service.

This was our first visit to the Smuggler's Cove restaurant. We did not book in advance. When we entered the restaurant we were left standing for around 5 minutes for a member of staff. When he appeared he asked if we had pre-booked. I said we had not. His attitude then completely changed for the worse, leaving all 3 of us with the impression we were not welcome. He said "There's maybe a table up there if you want to go and have a look". He did not show us to a table, instead leaving us to find one ourselves.

I had to request a clean cup, not the dirty one I was given.

During our 2 hour visit we did not see one table cleared from around us. All of the plates etc were just left on the tables for the entire visit, including up to the time when we left.

All in all, the food was fine, the service was totally inadequate. I would NOT recommend a visit to this restaurant again.
