Down-at-Heel Country Pub

With its large garden area, this used to be one of the nicest places to relax on sunny Sunday afternoons back in the day.

These days, however, the Robert Burre looks more than a little tired and careworn. Service is indifferent at best, though the quality of the beer does not seem to have suffered. The bar area is dingy and in need of refurbishment, and the restaurant, though clean, looks more than a little tired.

It's a shame. This really used to be a nice place, but I'm not coming back anytime soon.

We arrived at 10pm as website said open till 11pm. Music was playing & it seemed like a nice atmosphere. 10 minutes later, as we had bought a drink & started playing pool, we were told it was last orders! They said we could buy another drink after last orders but can't play any more pool! The music had stopped & we felt like we were in the way. Uncomfortable atmosphere so we left. Won't be going back.

This pub needs a good revamp. Cold and no food. Very loud bar staff.

It's a shame, could be a good pub but very uncomfortable furniture; tired dirty and dated. Staff were not welcoming and was waiting quite a while to be served despite a lack of customers. A summer pub only where you can sit in the garden.
