Oh dear what has happened to the Withies? We have had many good meals in the past but tonight we're dreadfully disappointed. We waited half an hour to order..even had to ask. Then waited for 40 minutes between starter and main course. The selection of seasonal veg was no more than a few carrots and a token amount of Savoy cabbage. We were even offered dessert whilst waiting for our main course!
The standard had definitely slipped...no more amazing selection of veg and attentive service . We couldn't face waiting for dessert.
So sad it's not what it was...won't rush back.

Such a frustrating experience. Took for ages to be served and so overpriced for everything except beer which still wasn't cheap. £15.01 for a double gin and tonic. Tonic came in at over £4.00 for a bottle!! You want to like the pub as it's beautiful on the inside with lovely gardens. But getting ripped off like that means I won't be going back.

Great 16th century pub. Wonderful ambience, great food and great wines too.

Stayed overnight in what looks like a converted barn building. Very comfortable bed and great shower.

Lovely pub friendly and welcoming.

Somewhat limited selection of ales, food was excellent however. Highly recommended for Sunday lunch!

What a great pub! We stopped here for lunch in the middle of a hike. The pub was very accommodating despite us being a larger group (of wet and muddy hikers), and the food and service were both great. It was a charming countryside pub with low ceilings and a warm, cozy fireplace. I’d love to return if I find myself in Compton again.

Great food made the way I like. I would say traditional but that's not quite accurate. Great menu of hearty food, really nicely cooked. Lovely staff though not always easy to get their attention. A little bit rustic and cramped but a great place to go if you want a really good meal.

Superb, food and fabulous ambiance but wow those ceilings are low so watch your head. It's both charming and friendly in equal measures. Love it will be back soon.

A rural Inn, but V close to Guildford. Excellent service and choice of drinks, both wine and real ale. I didn't dine, but my friends intimate that the food is superior for pub food.
