Friendly and helpful staff....even adapted the service for lime and lemonade when they didn't have cordial! (Hope his thumb is ok!)
Lovely interior, sumptuous seating, decor very relaxing, we didn't try the food but it looked good.
It's massive too....no idea why I'd never been before!

Pub area looks and feels like a chain. Nice location but dark and unwelcoming inside with kids serving behind the bar who seem more interested in smirking with their mates than serving their customers. Plenty of reasonable outside seating but popular with smokers. Loud clientele too so perhaps not the place for a quiet drink on a late Friday afternoon.

Stopped in for Sunday lunch, really good menu. We opted for the Roast Beef and Yorkshire puds. Great portion size, lots of roast potatoes, several types of veg, several slices of beef and a large yorkshire pudding. The staff were attentive and welcoming and we were pleased to see that they were truly dog friendly (we saw a large boxer accompanying his humans in the bar area). Would definitely recommend.

Lovely welcome and efficient staff. The room was large with comfortable bed and good choice of room snacks etc. The only slight negative is that the room was very cold. I’m sure if we would have asked, they may have had a spare heater but we were only there one night so wasn’t worth making a thing about it. We had a lovely evening meal at the pub. Reasonably priced room and meal and would definitely recommend.

We went for a Sunday Roast with friends at the Red Lion. Had not done so since COVID. The meal was very disappointing. Not one of us could say it was good. The roast potatoes were not brown enough, the chicken looked not done! As the skin was not brown at all. We had to test to see if it was cooked. Only just! Beef was too pink. I know that is the modern way, but it was not really cooked. Ate the edges and took the rest back for the dog. The bread and butter pudding was stodgy lump of bread with custard poured over. No nicely egg custard as it should have been. My friend had no raisins in it at all. To say that we won’t be eating there again!

I arranged to have my 50th birthday party at the Red Lion.
We met with Simona beforehand to agree the room layout and what food wes like. She was Fabulous and so helpful.

On the night all my guests commented on how lovely the food was (from what I managed have I very much agree l!). The team there were also so friendly and couldn't do more to help make the evening a success.

I'd absolutely recommend the Red Lion to anyone.

Simona and her team were fantastic in helping me host our work Christmas dinner which followed a study afternoon session. The study area was decorated with lots of beautiful festive decorations which gave it a warm and homely feel and the food was excellent. Good portion sizes, tasty and all dietary requirements catered for. Thanking them so much for all their hard work and excellent communication in the lead up to the event to make it a big success!

We recently held our company Christmas lunch in the Aldenham Room at the Red Lion. Simona was very helpful and made sure all our requirements were taken into consideration. The staff on the day were very attentive and the food was plentiful and great tasting.
