Great food, staff and facilities. Ideal for families. Spacious but warming, especially with lovely open fire. Lots of events. Great in summer with outside bar and play area for children.

A wonderful pub! Outside areas were well taken care of. The staff are as friendly as your grand mum and the food is wonderful, in big serves. I loved the "bangers & mash" and didn't expect to get such a huge dish! Wonderful.

Friendly pub which was clean, light and comforting. Limited selection of Ales, but hearty food options on menu in addition to light bites. Food available at lunch was inexpensive, fairly basic but satisfying. Chips were light and fluffy. Family friendly.

First time I went here was during summer and the place was very busy because they have such a large outside area with play area for kids. Couldn't get food this time as the kitchen was backed up by 2 hours.

Recently went along again to try their Sunday roast and was pretty disappointed. Food came out tepid so turned fully cold whilst eating it. Portion was not good value for money. Dessert however was pretty good!

Server was polite, but forgetful and slow. Just a bit of a shame really, won't be going back for food.

We booked a table in advance for 2pm today and upon arrival were told that they couldn't take our order as the kitchen were "too stressed" at the moment. I'm pretty disappointed, as we booked the table for my brother's birthday and waited for over an hour to make a lunch order.

The service wasn't great either. During the hour we waited to order we observed the waitress wandering around asking whose order she had. She wandered for 15 minutes, in and out of the pub trying to find the owner. Turned out she had the wrong table number. And the wrong order.

Staff told us to wait till 3pm to make an order, despite booking a table well in advance, and when we returned to the bar to attempt another order they told us to wait another half an hour. It's been disappointing. We just wanted to have a good day out with family. When we asked for a refund for our drinks order, we were offered a voucher to come back and dine again.

Whilst we were waiting for the manager to "sort out" our voucher, we overheard another customer trying to make an order, only to be told that there was no roast dinners, no lamb, no fish, no chicken, no chips, and no salad left. Honestly what is going on in this place? Their entire menu is comprised of chips and meat. All they had left to serve were side vegetables essentially. Hilariously enough, whilst this is happening, we overhear that another customer is being served food and drink on the house because the Sun Inn's goalpost collapsed on her child.

So in closing, probably not the best place to take your children to, or to visit if you're really hungry. Never going to visit this place again.

Watched the England vs Sweden game her and it was really good! First time coming her and wasn't disappointed. It's very good for children and no kids were bored. There was something for them even if they didn't watch the game. There was a bouncy castle and a football pitch. All in all I recommend!

Celebrating family birthday. Food so bad neither kids or adults could eat it. Other people returned their food. Only 1 person serving. Do not go to this pub until the Manager sorts it out. Other Mac pubs locally are really good. This pub really had a bad night tonight 😝

Friendly staff. However, the place was not busy but we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. I had ordered the Roasted butternut squash burger. I asked for it to be without the goats cheese, which they did. But it was served up on a wooden board which you can't help wondering how they manage to clean properly. My mum had ordered the scampi which was supposed to come with tatare sauce and lemon. It had neither. They asked if we wanted any sauces so mum asked for tartare sauce. No lemon though. I asked for salt and we were given a handful of sachets. I would have liked some vinegar for my chips but as they were served in a metal basket I didn't think it was worth it. The chips were nice and so was my burger, but quite frankly I don't think it was worth the £16 I paid for the two meals. Sorry.
