Mill on the Exe

Been here lots of times but not for a while, booked in Saturday nite 26/2/22, really busy, great atmosphere. I felt they had crammed a few more tables in that being said lots of very good attentive servers, we just had mains, Cod & chips beautiful ..batter very crispy minted mushed garden peas, thick chips, Thai curry very nice, big portion and the hunters chicken was a little disappointing. But it is a love setting and great service, yeah we will go back 👍

Came here two evenings in a row while staying locally. The venue is excellent with pleasant indoor seating and superb choice of outdoor seating. Staff were amazing, very welcoming to myself being a solo-diner. Great service at the bar from George (?) on the 2nd day. Well looked after overall. Starters excellent both days, the burger a bit over seasoned and basic, but the steak was fantastic and would really recommend. Thanks Mill team! 👍

Oh my goodness I couldn’t fault the Mill on the Exe today.. we had actually head for The Imperial but were turned away because of our furry companion. The Mill welcomed us inside and outside with open arms.. the staff were warm, friendly and helpful, service was prompt and the food delicious and reasonably priced on the lunchtime menu. The decor is stunning as is the setting on the water with soooo much outside space.. we will be returning for sure.

Really enjoyed an evening meal here. Lovely setting and nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff great, giving us space without pressure.
Food was very tasty and good sized portions.
Had the fish and chips followed by sticky toffee pudding.
Highly recommended!!

There was nothing wrong with the pub… it’s got a big car park, right on the edge of a really nice dog walk circuit, was clean and the staff were attentive… but I booked a table here at lunch on a Saturday so I expected a lunch menu…. But they only do what looks like an evening meal menu on the weekends, so I ended up with scampi… I forgot scampi isn’t made fresh so ended up with something I would give my kids on a Wednesday night 😭

What an absolutely delightful place. It's been 20+ years since I was here last and wow, they've really set the bar high (I mean the standards - the bar isn't literally unsuitable for shorter people 😅).

Great outdoor space but it's equally just as lovely inside. Staff were fantastic but the food stole the show... We had ham and chicken pie, prawns, Malaysian curry and (good 'ol) fish and chips. All was Amazing!

Keep on doing what you are doing.

This place is amazing! Do not hesitate in booking it. It's the best location, best food and best staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful especially Jane who gave us information on the area. Wish we could have stayed longer! Rooms are amazing too, so clean and modern. It is the perfect place to stay and we can't wait to go back. Thank you! Jo

We were at the Mill-on-the-Exe for our Christmas Eve festive dinner and everything was perfect! The ambience, the service, the food....amazing!
The staff , particularly Olive, were wonderful and we had a truly memorable experience. We would definitely love to do this again. Thank you Mill-on-the-Exe!
