Lovely pub, lovely location, food absolutely awful (again) simple sausage and chips not fit for the bin.
Couldn't cut with a knife, literally had to snap the sausage to get into it.
Really not acceptable, didn't want to complain as I certainly didn't want a replacement. Will not be going back.

Cheaper than some of the more touristy pubs in the forest. Refreshing indifference to our visit from the barman, rather than the over enthusiastic ENJOY! instruction you get at so many pubs nowadays. Good food and cheap beer. Just don't let the sheep munch on your savouries.

Five of us and a small dog visited here for an evening meal on a Tuesday evening and sat inside and enjoyed the very nice Butty Bach ale on tap. We ordered three lots of Boar sausages with mash (on special menu), a curry and chicken bits with chips. I can only speak for the sausages (pictured) that were absolutely fabulous. The other meals were very much enjoyed too. This has a friendly local pub feel to it so is great for an honest meal after a day of sightseeing. There’s loads of parking. And sheep!

I have always come to the rising sun, for social and business and they are Always a great bunch! Foods good, good entertainment, kids play area, next to woodland walks and a nice atmosphere. If you are here on holiday, definitely pop by for a walk, pint and some lunch!

9 of us dropped in for some food on Monday at c3PM without booking. When other pubs are shut or had stopped serving food, the Rising Sun was open with a good few drinkers in the bar and a few restaurant tables occupied.
All the specials and menu items were available, even the vegan and vegetarians were well catered for.
Well done.

Foods are fine and most staffs are friendly.
I work at Parkend over 10 years and always brought friends and family here.
Few months ago I brought my wife for lunch but landlord was rude, so we left the pub.
Good manner doesn't cost you any thing.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Rising Sun yesterday. The food was great a lovely well cooked Sunday lunch and reasonably priced. The staff were all helpful and polite and there was a lovely family atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
