On the table there is a piece of stone with a QR code to download the app, unless if your not lazy and don't mind a trip to the bar, you order from the app, add the table number, and everything is being served to your table.
The location is quite good as it's over looking the green while the other pub is on the same direction as the tube station so you have that traffic of people going to the tube.
The venue have the capacity of a decent size crowd, however, the outdoor area has limited space so it's a first come first serve bases.
Less than 10 min after I order the food came and the chips were still warm.
You come, you order whatever you need from the app, food served, no need to queue up and wait to order and pay. But that's just me being lazy that day.
Love their funky art next to the stairs up to the loos.
Bonus is their "Work from the Pub" offering which has saved me when I could not work from home, and they leave you be all day without feeling like they are ushering you from the table and that is always welcome!
Now this is my second review on same pub . But this time it's only 2 star as bad food & service . As yesterday I took my cousin from Singapore for lunch and we had a worse experience on food. We ordered fish and chips . But fish was all burnt from both sides and when we told the person who served us said that fish was beer coated so this is the texture and cour u get. Can you believe this and we without arguing just had that fish full oil & no taste or flavour. V bad service & quality of food . My cousin had first time ever in her life special British fish & chips signature dish & that was disaster. Next time we will think twice to go there or not.
Absolutely flawless. So much thought had gone into everything, from the lovely table decorations to the little bag of Lily’s Kitchen dog treats wrapped with a bow for my dog who was with me! The food was delicious- all came out hot and fresh and the staff were all so lovely and didn’t rush us between courses and really just let us enjoy being out on Xmas day.
I’ve been other places before for Xmas lunch and this was by far the best.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend , and would definitely come back next year! Thank you!
My partner and I had the pork belly which is best summarised by the attached photos. A substantial chunk of meat consisting of 80% undercooked and chewy fat and 20% overcooked dry meat.
The morsel of crackling on my plate was inedible due to amount of pig hair (see photo), however I dared try some on my partner's plate. The fat was totally rancid, like a stale pork scratching, and I ended up spitting it out.
I changed my pork to the roast beef, which despite being passable, I couldn't enjoy after the pork experience.
The one redeeming thing was the Yorkshire pudding, which was fluffy and well seasoned.
Service was apathetic.
Unless you are obsessed with Yorkshire Puddings, go literally anywhere else. Please.
