Buffer Stops

Such a quaint pub. No food available when we were there which was a shame, but not the fault of anyone and plenty of places to eat by. Great place to have a drink before catching the steam train back 😍

Great little bar at the northern end of the East Lancashire Railway. This bar and refreshment room compliments the one in Bury. Great range of cask ales at reasonable prices. Not much seating in the bar, but there is also seating outside by the buffer stops, where you can watch the comings and goings of the arriving trains. Recommended.

Is a nice place, kept in a old fashioned way. There is a bar, simple food available and often live music in the waiting room. Also can ride a steam train a few miles.

We ended a long walk with a couple of pints here and were very happy. It is a cosy pub at the end of the East Lancs railway. The selection of ales was good for the size of the pub, and the locals were friendly.

Took a trip over to Rawtenstall on the ELR great day out, had a few drinks in the Buffer stop on the way back! Great little bar good bar staff great selection of Beers and spirits at a competitive price, will visit again!

What a lovely little pub on the railway station, we sat outside and had a few drinks, it was a lovely place to finish the night and talk.

Good venue to see various trains

I like a nice pint in here after work. A hidden gem in the old station waiting room.
Serving real ales and IPAs amongst the usual fare.
