Lovely food, very fresh, only one little problem they forgot the red onion in the beetroot, red onion and tomato salad

Really good food here and at a fair price I would say ,All set in a smashing old building & I should know as I grew up in this building when it was a farmhouse !

I've never been to an eatery that had as bland food as here. Everything from the burger and the dry chicken... to even the chips and the week old coleslaw. It looks like a nice place to drink, just a shame the food they sell is not edible

The old Beams has a lovely atmosphere and friendly professional staff. We had a Sunday dinner which was a decent portion for a reasonable price tasty. Our desserts (flake cheese cake and sorbet) were absolutely delicious!!

We went for a Sunday Carvery as advertised. Insead we didn't have a choice of a Carvery, just a normal Sunday lunch. Veg wasn't cooked properly, meat was bland and the cutlery was cheap and didn't cut the meat very well. As for the Gluten Free option...basically there wasn't one despite the option on the menu. I asked for Gluten free battered fish and chips, to be told the 'gluten free'fish and chips was a fish without batter.!! No Gluten free Yorkshire pudding or stuffing either. Very dissatisfied will never visit again.

Absolutely great quantity of food provided, freshly served and good value.
Reason for four stars? Well table was a little sticky to the touch maybe a bit picky, but my beef and onion pie was beef and carrot. So hence the down grade.
Found the toilet sign amusing.

My family enjoyed a delicious meal at The Old Beams on Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious, the staff were great and it was a pleasure to dine in such a beautiful old pub.

We would highly recommend and we will be back very soon!

Thank you.

Service was good and friendly but the food was less than good. It had obviously been prepared and left ready to serve, the plates were icy cold which meant food was only just warm. The fish was overcooked and crispy which made it in inedible. All in all not a wonderful experience sadly 😞
