An absolute gem of a pub. Traditional, honest with friendly locals and a welcoming atmosphere. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Perfect for anyone who likes a typical working class pub in industrial town in the heart of the shipbuilding industry.

We were looking for a pub for a quick drink and coffee. We came across the Devonshire and decided to stop. The coffee was delicious and they carry quite a list of cider, my husband was happy. The pub is clean and cheerful. The toilets were just as clean and very well decorated. You are met by a very friendly Irish Wolfhound and a greyhound, once they get their pats they're off. The ladies behind the bar are friendly and helpful. Such a nice discovery! We would gladly recommend the lovely pub.

Staff are fab, each time i visit this town due to work, this is the place i go. Landlady Sam always looks after me, Angela & Angie behind the bar welcome me greatly. Top pub, top people

Had my stepdaughter 21st here last week, Sam and the staff where brilliant they went out of there way to make everyone feel welcome. What a brilliant night in a brilliant pub.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing staff. I've been made to feel like one of the family since I walked through the door. And they are dog friendly which is a massive bonus. Top marks all round
