Heard great reviews from the anchor but i was deeply disappointed. Menu was just over complicated, overexpensive and bizarre. Bangers and mash with cabbage was £16. Food was stone cold and tasteless.

On the other hand best pub near the river with loads of seats and good views of the river. Good veggie options too and they looked tastier than the non-veggie meals

I booked an event with The Anchor - my wedding reception. They were lovely, and Josh especially was very concerned with making sure the food was top notch. The Anchor has a really great atmosphere at night and everybody was dancing with abandon and having a great time. We lit the place up with fairy lights which I would recommend doing since it brings out the charm of the place. Generally amazing venue with really friendly staff.

Great service! Even though could see the staff under pressure! With seeing the amount of people having to be severed. The older bloke and Elvis was a great comedy duo recommending food and drinks would definitely come back!

We had a great party here. My friends engagement. The atmosphere and staff were brilliant. The food was an ongoing buffet which they provided and it was the most delicious experience I've ever had. Absolutely awesome. Thank you so much. Top quality. We will be back. Fantastic location 🥰👌 Excellent 👍 XX

The closest pub to the punting experience. Great to grab a drink, or sit in and watch the punters

Stopped in here for some lunch today whilst out and about in Cambridge. Food was lovely and very tasty - had the fish & chips and then sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Only real downside was that the waiter point-blank refused to accept cash as payment (which transpires to be completely illegal), and as such this caused a lot of frustration and issues when paying the bill, as one half of the party wished to use cash as their contribution.
Otherwise a lovely lunch with a great view!

Popped over to the anchor last night after work and enjoyed some of the best live music and atmosphere I’ve experienced in a pub, ever. The staff are all great, the pub itself is cozy and the food is on point. Hearing that they’ll be having more music acts like last night, more frequently over the coming months leading to summer has got me excited to spend those nights enjoying amazing local acts next to the river as the sun set.
Safe to say I recommend!

had a lovely dining experience here along with my family ! was served by a lovely young lad called Brad who provided a wonderful , friendly service and was extremely helpful , listing all the information about the menu (my niece has a long list of allergies). couldn’t fault the food! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Beers were a little on the pricey side , however that’s forgiven with the stunning view of the river that this pub provides!
