Perfection for anyone who loves well cared for local pubs. Good outdoor drinking space and just away from the centre of Blackheath

Would have given 1, honestly 0 stars for today but wouldn't be fair on my overall experience.
Loved it, since I moved in new place and found this lovely pub round the corner.
Jim and another lady have been very friendly.
However, today, I just met new lady behind the bar, she tried to charge me extra. When I said that I always pay that amount, she seemed miserable and said this time she will do it. Really??!
I've been coming here for the last 4 months!
Never seen this pub so empty in all that time..
With the customer service like that, not surprised, tho..

Very nice traditional local with excellent real ales (Harveys, Timothy Taylor).

Lovely pub, sadly not very welcoming. Upon arrival, the landlord proudly told us everyone was free to say what they like in his pub, shortly before calling a singer on the radio a "f#&&@t" before switching it off. A little later, I overheard three fellas at the bar discussing something on the news and one referred to a politician as a "n*&&£r-c@@n".

We finished our drinks swiftly and don't feel comfortable going back.
