The Lamb

Excellent Sunday lunch! Newly refurbished with brand new menu. We opted for the sharing Sunday lunch platter which had a cut of each meat from the regular Sunday lunch options. The roasties and Yorkshire were cooked to perfection and the Cauliflower cheese side was definitely worth it...

Look forward to going back and trying their regular menu as the dishes sound amazing!

Good local pub. Good selection of beers on tap especially a gluten free option. Haven’t tried the food so will amend the review when I come back

The Lamb has had another refurb and it looks great inside and out. The food is great and reasonably priced. The parmesan chips are great and have to be tried (thank you Ollie). If beers and ciders aren't your thing this is a really nice place for tea/coffee/hot chocolate (made with milk, thanks Ollie) and a snack or just dinner. Great selection of beers too!

Gorgeous pub and lovely food - we had the bar snacks but the other food coming out looked great too. Service was great and in particular Freda who made the visit!

Avoid this place, at least until they get new management. We booked the place for 16 people reading the reviews. The service of the place is way under standard. Took them about 20 mins just to get the drinks order then another 15 to bring the drinks. Once the food order was placed, the waiter kept coming back to tell us that half of the things on 10 item mains list, weren't available. So basically we had to eat what they had rather than what we wanted. It took them half an hour to bring a veg burger which any restaurant would serve in 5 minutes. To make things worse, the manager refused to take off £60 service charge which we weren’t happy to pay as we didn’t get the service we should have got and which he isn’t legally entitled to charge in first place. To say he was rude would be an understatement.

The main problem in the place is that manager who should be doing his job of making sure
1. The restaurant has enough food
2. If something in the menu isn’t available then let the customers know before hand - again this needs good awareness of situation which only a good manager would have
3. Improve the service in both front and back of the house and if there is staff shortage then stop sitting in the office and help your staff by working alongside them.

From the manager’s attitude it didn’t look like he will be able to improve any of the above hence I feel the place needs a new management.

We did not think anything was great. The service was very slow. The very expensive steaks were extremely over cooked. The chips were pretty basic considering they were described as triple cooked chips on the menu. I have had better chips from fast food restaurants. When I asked for English or Dijon mustard I was given whole grain mustard and that someone will find English or Dijon for me. This never arrived. The presentation of the food and the long stem broccoli side dish we ordered was terrible. I live locally and really like what you have done with The Lamb but you are really letting yourselves done with the quality of the food and service.

Super pet friendly. Waitress was super happy to meet our pups.
Staff are are friendly and welcoming.
Sticky toffee pudding was a bit too dense.
Can't judge food as we only went for drinks and desserts
Would definitely give it another chance 😊

We definitely enjoyed our experience here. The menu is quite well priced for the area. The service was friendly and cordial. They were nice enough to accommodate a change in the dish and after it arrived in its original form, they had no trouble taking it back and changing it. Very appreciated! Place is cozy, too!
