The Stocks Inn
On holiday in Dorset we have passed this Inn many times in the past but for the first time we and two friends booked a table at the restaurant; we were not disappointed.
The ambiance was special a delightful warren of ancient spaces. The food was excellent and the young lady, Hari gave us friendly fantastic service. The selection of dishes on offer was great, I had a tasty curry.
Overall a fabulous visit and I feel sure that we will return when in Dorset again. Thank you Hari.

Spontaneous Friday evening visit for a beer and a meal, happy to find a Morris group also there for the evening (it was the weekend of the local folk festival). Good beer, good food, good location ( and good weather).

a place you can’t help but go back to, staff are ace- happy faces and great service. the surroundings of the pub are lovely, the flowers and garden are well looked after. the food is also your good pub comfort food :)

We had the best time here! It was the first time we had been out in over a year and it lived up to the occasion! There was a great atmosphere, the staff were all amazing and the food was delicious. One of the best country pubs we’ve ever been to. Thanks for a great night!

Sunday early evening visit. The menu is varied with a lot of the pub favourites included. Good selection of drinks. We had a hunters chicken and a bacon and cheddar beef burger, both hot and well presented. Desserts were good too, the sherry trifle didn’t scrimp on the sherry! Our server was a great guy, we had our dog with us who quietly growled at him every time he approached but that did not phase him, even when he gave her a biscuit and she spat it out at him😂. On leaving we met the landlady who was very friendly and asked what we thought of our meal and made a big fuss of our dog. We will be back. Make sure you book a table!

I was extremely disappointed. I was with three other people they said there my meals were nice. Mine was awful I had vegetable curry. Full of peppers onions a large mushroom and broccoli in a watery sauce. Needed something such as carrot parsnip or aubergine.

4 of us had Sunday lunch here today.
Staff nice and friendly.
Quite a large menu which I think reflected in the quality of the food.
Roast Turkey dinner was okay, think the veg was frozen, rather bland, roast potatoes not very crispy.
The other 3 people felt the same way.
Puddings were very nice, we had crumble and bread and butter pudding.
Would I rush back again, probably not.

Check your bill carefully. Realised when we got home that we'd been double-charged for dessert. Generous portions, not so generous on the billing!
