Reasonable town centre pub laid out in a traditional manner. Only does one cask ale, Tetley, but that is fine. Good value home made pickled onions can be bought here.

Went in on the first day of pub opening in England after covid-19 lockdown July 4th 2020. All the correct measures were in place and it was very sensibly run. The beers were spot on an we had a pleasant afternoon sliding into drunkeness.

Straightforward drinking place with nice folk and very cheap beer!

This is a pub. There is no 'theme', no gastro, no bar menu nonsense (unless dry roasted peanuts, industrial pork scratchings and pickled eggs is your idea of a 3 course meal... Which come to think of it...?). It makes no apologies for being a boozer, and neither does it need to, for a mighty fine ale house it is, serving well kept beer at a decent price and a unique collection of shortbread, colouring pencils, boxes of mixed chocolates and Elvis paraphernalia. (I kid you not, but if you don't believe me you'll have to go check it out for yourself! 😎)

Tetley on draught. What else do you require. Homely pub. Clean. No issues. Good local customers who will engage with visitors. Very nice experience.
