This place has been a favourite for friend gatherings or work lot gatherings. It's laid back, they have sports on often for the fans and their food is always nice. A big bonus in my opinion is their changing menus, it's always great to go and find some new entries on there.

Very friendly happy smiley staff unless this was down to the fact how hot he knew the wings would be 🤣 made our work dinner break. Lovely Whitby scampi and chips. Top staff I must say. Thank you

Food quality - 5/5
Value - 5/5
Service 3/5

Food was awesome, portion sizes was fantastic and it came out at a reasonable time given that it was pretty busy. Value wise it was bang on, the price for the food couldn't be any better.

Service was the only thing which let it down, having only two bar staff, some people including ourselves was waiting a tad longer than would expect to order any food and drinks. Having an extra person would have definitely helped.

Atmosphere was great and the place was well looked after given its recent change of ownership. The place was busy.

Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Thanks for having us

We arrived after booking we got the impression they wasn't expecting us.
We got put on the smallest table ( A family of 3 ) barely enough room for our drinks never mind the plates.
45 minutes wait on food ( short staffed maybe )
Toilets are not clean but I guess being so busy they didn't get chance to check.
My little boy enjoyed the play area while waiting for food ( god send )
When the food arrived they offered us another table as they could see there wouldn't be enough room for our food.
Food was decent enough but going on past experiences we thought it had gone slightly down hill.
The staff on duty were lovely and helpful so we thank you for that.
Honest opinion we will not be rushing back anytime soon.

The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Our son and daughter can highly recommend the “Roll up - Roll up” fairground inspired platter for 2. We were travelling through and stopped off in the hope that they may find a table for us, (family of 4), even though we had not pre booked. From the moment we entered the premises you felt the friendly atmosphere Libby and Ashley are amazing hosts and deserve credit for their hospitality, politeness and professionalism. The locals were fantastic too, taking time to say hello and chat to our children. We shall definitely visit again when we are this way again and highly recommend everyone to visit.

Ok, so we were looking for somewhere where we could bring our new dog with us, to be fair the dog probably enjoyed it more than I did, it's been a while since I've been in here and I must say it has gone downhill, don't get me wrong the staff were fine but the pub looks uncared for, as for the food I would say pretty average although I felt a bit cheated as I ordered the steak scampi and chicken, which I think was nearly £12, the scampi wasn't cooked properly, and to be fair the rest of the food wasn't that good either but we had waited nearly 45 minutes for the food and the kids were starving and finished the rest of my plate as the state of the scampi put me off the rest of the dish, My partner didn't want me to make a fuss so we just finished and left.

The worst meal we've ever had at any pub/restaurant. Had to wait 45 minutes for food as it appeared that most staff were on a break and when it arrived was basically inedible.i hate to think how long we'd have waited if the pub was busy. It was 4.10 when we got in there.
Veggie spicy skewers, cold with a wrap that was stale and no pineapple as described on the menu. The other meal we ordered was a chick less burger. Onion rings were cold and like cardboard and the bap was stale. No one came to ask how our meals were and we left most of the meal. A table behind us had their meal within 20 minutes and that was a steak. Very expensive, waste of money and will not return.

First visit back to the area in several years, we used to love eating here , however much has changed
with an app for ordering food and drinks now but if it says option not available you need to ask staff as it might be just one ingredient not available . Unfortunately staff need some training on how to smile and be friendly. Food from previous guests still on the floor and not swept up. toilets were smelly, floors wet and not cleaned, no rota visible for regular checks. Sadly i don,t think we will be back .
