To start, if you are driving, there are a few parking spots allocated to the pub around the back in the car park shared with the coop.
The gate you can enter the pub through could do with being marked up a little better to make it clear it is indeed the pub.
Service was very good from all the staff, non intruding yet generally readily available.
The restaurant serves Indian food and my experience was very good. Portions are generous whilst be fairly priced.
The quality is good with plenty of flavour in all my dishes.
I did have a lemonade and lime for my drink, which was not the best. I was close to sending it back.

Overall I fully recommend going here. Well done to staff 👏🏻

The food tastes good and the drinks where nice however I have a couple personal comments, I thought that the services was slow and I personally am against the use of Halal Meat - Which I did not find out untill after our meal.
(However it was written at the bottom of the menu - which I think is good)

However this is still the reason I would not be returning to the Pub.

Come here with my partner and have eaten here twice. The food is fairly priced and absolutely wonderful only downside is the wait times for food can be very long. Our first night here we waited half hour which was fine as everything seemed to be fresh as it did on the second visit but on the second visit it took an hour and ten minutes for food to arrive other than the wait times the price is good the service is good and the quality is perfect

Although I can't fault the quality of the food (fantastic) the timings and estimations are terrible. Placing an order over the phone at 6pm (nice and early) and was told it would be a 7:30 collection. Cool, that's fine. A bit long but we can cope with that. Turned up, "they're just prepping it now". Excellent. 8pm comes and I'm getting a bit hungry and impatient now. The food finally comes at 8:10pm. Over 2 hours from ordering. Not great when you're trying to plan your dinners around newborn feeding times.

Had I not already paid when I themed up, I would have left.

I heard a lot of calls to Just Eat customers to mention about delays. I honestly think that with their app and Just Eat, they've bitten off more than they can chew. I really hope that they either increase the kitchen size to cope with the orders, or stop either app or Just Eat.

A word to the wise, don't pay until you've got your food. Leave your options of leaving open

It has been a number of years since I had been to the chequers; pre-Coop and post Coop; roughly five years in between the visits. It was previously my local pub but since I moved away it wasn’t practical.

However, I returned for a curry with my family and it was just as pleasant as I remember prior to the layout and ownership change. Highly recommend their Indian dishes especially the garlic and chilli chicken dishes.

The food is pleasant enough once you do get it. Wait times are unacceptably long. Especially when only 3 other diners in and minimal takeaway orders chiming through. Curries/rices were very nice but the naan was cremated on one side which should never have been sent out. Also as a side note, glasses need to be cleaned properly. Really unpleasant smell that lingers on them. Dirty cloths?

Wow. This place is great! Staff were super kind as well. I had the tikka chicken and it was so good. Would definitely love to come back. Thank goodness I am walking distance. Lol. Atmosphere was awesome as well.

Amazing Indian food..... really enjoyed it and as we were a table of 17 peeps, service was great and done promptly with a smile. The pub itself was lovely and oldie inside, toilets were clean but are starting to look a little tired in areas. We ate in the main bar area, but there is a restaurant side with smaller tables to book. Really enjoyed it and would definately go again.
