The Carpenters Arms

Although I live 80 km away, this pub has become my 'local'. Whoever is behind the bar, or whose name is above the door, a warm and friendly welcome is always on offer. Being off the main strip, many people might not ordinarily know it is there which, for me, is part of its appeal. The bar is spacious and seating such that you can choose to be in the 'thick of things' or sit in a quieter area if you prefer to be out of the limelight. A separate, well proportioned pool room leads onto a beautifully well maintained beer garden, perfect for hot summer evenings. The pub also offers the usual darts, juke box, quiz machine, fruit machine, and friendly locals. A gem of a pub, not spoilt by the plasticity of so many pubs of today. Long may it thrive.

Lovely couple have just become the new landlords. I'm sure they will do really well.

Excellent friendly atmosphere. We'll behaved children and dogs welcome. Has dart board and board games/ cards to borrow.

Its a small Village pub with a good atmosphere the staff make you feel welcome and the prices are quite reasonable I would recommend it if it's just two of you or a very small group
