Really nice location. Very good Beers made from a Micro-Brewery. Very kindly Staff. That's THE place to chill and drink a good beer in Chester.

Not much choice of food but what I had was delicious!! Home made steak and ale (I think) pie with bread, chutney and pickle. Loved it.

Have been in a few times for drinks but having seen on FB the news of them starting food and seeing the dishes, we had to try it! And it did not disappoint! Beef roast was huge and so tasty!! Would definitely recommend and would go back again! My husband loves the selection of real ales, as did both my dad and father in law. They have an impressive selection of gin that suited me! And the staff are really lovely, taking the time to actually speak to you! Highly recommend!

Good atmosphere. This placed has changed hands a few times before but this time the management much more friendly , cheerful and helpful. Didn’t get to sample their pies. Maybe sometime. I hope they do well. By the way this time they’ve got Wi-fi.

A great place for real ale fans. Good selection of beers, including Big Hands own beers and guest ales. Also good gin range. Vinyl night I think is on Tuesday, but check first. Avoid when Chester Races are on.

Not being a beer drinker myself which they have quite a collection to choose from, but went along to the quiz/open mic night, the local singer David O'Connor hosting, didnt make it to hard that I as able to answer some of the questions. couldn't stay for the singing talents of those who wanted to. shame I missed the duet of louise Selfe another local talent, and David O'Connor well they said they hope too, so hoping it did go well

Really good pub, this. Went on a Friday night and found a good crowd, not too rammed, good range in the visitors without it being for just one group.
Had a brilliant Bagatelle table and a range of boardgames to enjoy.

The beers were amazing! Nicest sour I've drunk this year from Pressure Drop brewery, and the brilliant practice of the fridge sale - keeping the bottles fresh and offering a selection of unusual stuff at affordable prices.

Definitely go. Go on.

A friendly welcome to a good selection of delicious beers and ales (and craft spirits). I’m not normally a fan of porter/stout but after trying a sip of the Spectre, had to have a half as it was like a rich pudding in a glass!

We had the burger and mac & cheese (the team were good enough to whip up a perfectly dressed side salad for me too which wasn’t on the menu). Very good value, perfect portion size and very well executed.

We only had time for a flying bite to eat but will definitely return to loose some lazy hours working our way through the ale selection.

This venue has been through many guises before, possibly due to its location just out of the thick of it in town, but Big Hand have managed to transform it into a warm and successful bolt hole worthy of being its own destination.

Live music on a Tuesday.
