After a long walk, stopped off for lunch and a few drinks. Friendly staff, good range of drinks, including Heineken! Not seen that in many places around the area. Food was good portions and good quality. Good size garden area, so looking forward to going back when it's a bit warmer. Highly recommended for drinks, food and relaxing.

OK sunday lunch, pudding very good. Not as good as some other pubs in the area, but enjoyed our visit.

Been here many times since the review below and it's always a great experience.

A fantastic village countryside pub. Nice and super friendly staff who serve delicious food and drinks.

The pub is comfortable and decorated to a high standard and it also has a nice beer garden with swings and a slide for the kiddies which is perfect for those warmer days and it's pretty quiet there with only the occasional car, cyclist or horse and rider passing by.

The pub is kept nice and clean and we witnessed the staff sanitizing the bar and tables whilst we were there, so we felt Covid safe.

There is also some nice picturesque countryside surrounding the village which makes it an ideal stop whilst out walking or cycling. There is quite a few footpaths within easy reach of The Black Lion to enjoy a stroll and well behaved dogs and their owners are always welcome.

Nice warm pub with fire. Just right for a damp November cycle ride. Good food, good beer, warm welcome. Certainly be back.
