A fantastic pub, well-priced drinks and food, and always a good atmosphere. I recommend this pub to people all the time. Always filled with decent regulars, this pub springs to mind for family during the day and good-hearted frivolity at night. A welcoming pub all round!

We enjoyed a moonlit al fresco dining experience with our keenly priced takeout burger deal from The Ambrette, which is operating a kitchen out of this place. It seems to be in an odd location for one of the better reputed eateries of East Kent and it's tricky to park close by. The Takeaway was excellently packaged and presented, coming with a free Mango Lassi, poppadoms and sauce, which was a nice unexpected extra. The burgers themselves were all distinct and very well filled and flavoured with influences from Indian and Malay cuisine. The accompanying wedges were heavily spiced and baked to a good crisp on the outside, served with a fresh sauce. All very enjoyable. Being takeaway burgers (they do other dishes, too) this missed the ambition and refinement the Canterbury restaurant strives for, but for the purpose to good effect. Worthy at full price and a steal with the deal we had.

Not for the over 30's. Definitely an under 20's pub. Bar staff friendly but not very knowledgeable about real ales or bitters. If its not lager, it's not on Draft.
