The pubs open again! We missed it and it’s back better than ever. Great food and local traditional pub feel.

My partner and I came in today for lunch, and thankfully you found us a table. Wow! It was fabulous 10 out of 10. The best pumpkin soup ( as good as in Oz) and we had the beef short rib which was delicious, served with creamed purée of potato and hisbi cabbage. We didn’t expect the mains to be so large, so also ordered the courgette fries and chunky chips, which we definitely didn’t need 😂 Thank you for the excellent meal.

Under new ownership, we are absolutely delighted to have the village pub open again. Freshly decorated, but still with the same beautiful character and charm this delightful old building has to offer. The food was delicious - in particular the Game Terrine and Salted Caramel Profiteroles were incredibly tasty!
Ashley was a lovely host, talking to customers and ensuring everything was as it should be. Extremely approachable and friendly. Our waitress Liv was also exceptional. Attentive, friendly and very polite. A real asset to the pub. We look forward to visiting for many more years to come.

Disappointing, definitely not a gastropub!
I was looking forward to the reopening of this local pub and booked a family Sunday lunch. The decor was really poor and very uninviting with the exception of the open fire. Soft driks were very limited. We ordered the Sunday Roast which was by far the worst Sunday Lunch we have had. The portions were very small, more like a child sized roast, the vegetables consisted of undercooked non crispy roast potatoes, one carrot per person and a small bowl of mixed brocolli and cabbage to share. Yorkshire puddings were not included with the roast pork. The gravy was watery and bland. Service was acceptable although staff were complacent, we even had to ask for salt and pepper as the tables were not laid properly. We would not go back :(

FANTASTIC!
Wow, amazing ambience, food & service.
As soon as we stepped in we were welcomed by one of the very friendly new owners. All the staff were chatty, engaging, friendly and professional.
The pub was full of diners and locals just have drinks.
The drinks list was extensive and well priced with cheap and quality wines as well as cocktails available.
The food was exceptional, I had fish and chips. Huge portion, choice of fries or chunky chips. Best flavoursome fish I’ve had in a long while. Was also priced well. Olives and flatbreads for nibbles when we arrived were cheap at just £4. Very tasty olives and tapenade.
Sticky toffee for pudd was brilliant and the cheese board was a really big portion with 3 lovely cheeses. Everything had a home made feel.
Can’t wait to go back and bring friends and family.

If you’re looking for a nice country pint to maybe go with the outstanding food on offer then look no further. You’ll be greeted with a warm welcome, friendly smiles from the staff, prompt service and an array of drinks to tickle your fancy. I’ve spent many a night in here and can honestly say there’s not another pub like it for miles. Ashley and Julia have done themselves proud with what they’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time and the team behind them can be as equally proud. Well done all, great effort.

Found this place by accident during a road journey. A traditional pub that is now essentially a restaurant although it does retain a bar in one of the three room, so if you just fancy a beer that's possible too. Food is clearly restaurant quality and a long way away from traditional 'pub-grub' and is reflected in the prices! Having said that, my wife and I we very satisfied with our lunch here.

Only had a pint but this out of the way little pub seems very popular for eating. It also has a dedicated no eating bar area so it's not like you are the only one not eating. Worth a detour. Free House with Long Man beers today.
