My mother and I stayed here before moving in for University. I have to say this was one of the best places I have stayed in the past 5 years! Both Adam and Sonja were amazing and Bella. I cannot thank you all enough for making my first week in town amazing. Cannot wait until Christmas to come back.

The room was clean and comfy. Very quiet area tucked away from city centre. But it was highly worth it. Loved the view outside the windows. Plus getting to see Morecambe Bay was very nice - did not expect that at all!The food was fanatic. Thanks for making us our first Full English. Smash Burgers were great!

Thank you for making us feel at home, far away from home!

We had a great overnighter in our camper van with three other families too. Lunch was excellent with a great choice of meals and good value for money. The tapas dishes were a firm favourite as were the pizzas too. My smashed burger with crinkle cut fries was top notch and very tasty. Service was quick and the owners were great hosts and friendly too. Being able to park overnight in the their secure and quiet rear car park allows you to either take the bus or a taxi into Lancaster for the day before returning to the pub for a night cap and some more excellent food if you’re still hungry.

Nice place with lovely, friendly and attentive service. The lunch menu was more limited than it shows on their website. Food was very nice and good quality but disappointed we got rocket instead of the peas we were supposed to get with our scampi. Didn't think about it till after we left that we should have been asked if that was OK and given a discount or apology for not receiving what was advertised.

The food was nice. Delivered in reasonable time. Two waitresses were doing a very good job of multi-tasking around the venue. They were polite and efficient. The only down side to our visit was that a large 'party group' was seated directly next to us after our arrival, despite the rest of the venue being empty. They were LOUD from the very outset and spoiled the ambience of our visit, which was for a special occasion. A family arrived and were also seated next to the noisy group rather than further away in a quieter area. They had to complain to staff and asked to be reseated. However they were only moved 2 tables away, so it was still noisy for them. They expressed their disappointment to us also. Nothing was said to the noisy group about their conduct, despite customers complaining. So ..... Nice venue. Nice food. Nice service. Prices about average for this type of venue. Poor 'crowd control'. We will visit again as it's generally a lovely venue.

Had meal at the lodge to catch up with a few friends on Saturday night, none of us have been since it swapped hands. Service was great considering there was only 2 girls! It was busy but everybody seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves the atmosphere was great! Nothing was too much for us :) thank you to liz and holly! Steaks were cooked to perfection to all of our tastes, the homemade peppercorn sauce was delicious! We all left very happy and a little bit tipsy thanks to the beautiful red wine they recommended to us 🥰 will be coming back for that wine! Hopefully see you again girls!

Had lunch yesterday. Waiters were good but service slow table next to us walked out as waited for over 1 hour. Food mediocre at best and not worth the money. Could have made tastier myself. No decaf coffee. And GF choices very limited in fact none on the Sunday lunch menu. Even got the bill wrong as did not know what we had ordered and had to check. Before asking why we did not mention it at the time we just wanted to go home. All in all a disappointment.

My children and I had a lovely long weekend here, the owners Sonja and Adam were absolutely fantastic, really friendly. The staff member Aaron is very funny. The pub is a family pub it has a bar area and a restaurant area, the live music was on when we stayed and my four children had a ball. The smash burgers are delicious as well as the curry. The hotel nearby is very clean and modernised to high standards.
Can't wait to visit again! I'd rate 10 stars if Google allowed me to.

Always a great time at the Slodge - the Gotham Smash burger was a win all round for us.

Well made, not too greasy which can be the issue with some smash burgers. Buns were perfectly toasted.

Would recommend 100% - service was great and very attentive.

I would have taken a picture but the food wasn't on the plate long enough.....
