The Dukes Head

Lovely country pub right by the A24. Good food and good beers. Quite spacious inside with a nicely enclosed beer garden with a climbing frame that is safe for kids to play on while you eat or drink.

Landlord is very friendly and accommodating. Has a reputation (justly deserved) for decent food.

Parking is a little tight (cramped spaces so watch it if you have a large car). Can be approached from the southbound and northbound A24 carriageway around the Beare Green roundabout.

Excellent food, friendly service. The pub had just launched a South African themed menu when we visited. They're daring to be different, hats off to them. It isn't budget prices, but nor is it budget quality. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.

Food was lovely and reasonably priced. We struggled with the communication between ourselves and the waitress especially as there were quite a few of us but overall the service was good. I would definitely go again but in a smaller group.

Besides being a great venue, with delicious curries, their "no worries ma'am, we'll help get your car started" service is brilliant. Thank you for helping to get a lady home late at night. We'll be back.

The gentleman serving at the bar was extremely helpful and friendly. It was a nice place to stop for a drink. There's a jukebox inside and a spacious garden at the back. There's also Indian food takeaway available

Now the Dukes Head is an Indian Restaurant it is fab . The Indian cusine is one of the best. Love the salmon tandoori. Staff are all very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

We were passing by and thought we would try the Indian menu... what can I say, one of the best Indians I’ve had the uk! I would highly recommend.

Appears to be closed down. Lights out and desolate inside. Concrete blocks barring access to car park.

A pity since the Dukes Head seemed to be the only pub within easy walking distance of Holmwood village.
