Nice local pub. Not trying to be something fancy, but still clean and friendly. Could have a wider selection of beers but that's a minor point.

I brought some friends along to my closest local that I've rarely visited to watch the Six Nations.
There's a really poor choice of beer in this pub with not a single ale other than John Smiths in tap. Wasnt that a beer that people drunk in the 90s?
We asked several times for the commentary to be turned up, but were told by the owners (who seemed more interested in drinking than helping) it was already on full volume and that the patrons of the pub should be more quiet to hear the commentary. I'm sorry but that is such a poor response. It was England v Scotland, the pub was packed and people will not be quieter! Its your job as a pub that shows sport to ensure that the volume works! It wasn't on full, it was broken! You could literally not hear a thing when you stood right next to it! It was also not on the full HD channel, the picture was awful.
A massive missed opportunity which will mean my friends will not ever want to return.
Get the basics right. Serve good beer that includes several ales and make sure the commentary works when you show sports all the time. There was a speaker above the TV that wasn't even being used!
It's really sad but I won't be returning to my closest local pub. I'll just head to North Street instead.

The new owners make this the best pub in bemi for me now. Such a generous welcome and a fantastic pint of Guinness. I'll be back!
