We visited The Bulls Head for our wedding anniversary meal, we’ve never been before but it had come highly recommended by a few people so we just had to try it and OMG the food and service was exceptional. The chef has done an outstanding job with the menu, we went for the 3 course set menu and with all the extras it was like the food just kept coming and coming. One delicious treat after the other.

The staff explained every dish to us and were so attentive, we never had an empty glass and nothing was too much trouble. We’ll definitely be coming back to visit The Bulls Head again in the future. Thank you for such an amazing experience.

What an amazing place, from the food to the drinks to the staff to the accommodation....

Mark and his staff couldn't have more attentive towards us explaining each dish as it came with extreme passion, we absolutely loved the whole experience.

If you want to do something a little different from the norm get yourself here book the tasting menu, have a few drinks and stay the night.

The accommodation is all brand new with a huge copper tub to sit and relax in before or after your food.

Lovely scenic location too....

Not to be missed.

Thank you to Mark and his staff for a great night and breakfast.

We will definitely be back.....

Outstanding dinner for four of us on 24th August. At 10 courses plus petite fours for 75£, this is not only value for money but one of the finest tasting menus in this part of the country. We came here for a special occasion for the first time and were pleasantly surprised, I had no idea this belonged to a celebrity chef but our guests were so pleased to dine here after seeing Chef Mark on the TV. My favourite dishes were the tasty canapés, the carrots done 3 ways( I'm not even that fond of carrots normally) sea bass was amazing, as was the venison ( Which Mark informed us that he shot himself). The pre dessert was an impressive green apple sorbet that was absolutely bursting with flavour and the chocolate dessert just blew us away. Dinning out here was an absolute pleasure and the fact that chef Mark took the time to serve and chat to the guests is noteworthy especially considering how busy it must have been. Places like these with outstanding food and value for money are a pleasure to visit. I look forward to visiting again and so do my guests. We had an excellent night and highly recommend this as a must visit when you're in Derbyshire!

myself and my wife dined in the alacarte restaurant on the 25/08/22 the experience was excellent.
The actual location was very picturesque outside and inside.
The waitresses Sharon and Amy was both equally attentive and very friendly the service was excellent.
Mark the chef was both friendly a knowledgeable about food and flavours.
The canapés was delightful and flavoursome, and the mains of treacle cured beef, and the bbq pork was exquisite.
The desserts and the cheeseboard that followed was also devine.
Overall one of the best dining experiences myself and my wife have had.
Kind regards Kevin & Tracey Brown great Coates North East Lincolnshire.

Absolutely amazing dining experience at last in Chesterfield. Beautiful setting, great service and fabulous culinary delights. Canapes were explained and delivered beautifully to our table. The quality and quantity was spot on you don't think you will be full but definitely are. I wanted to know how the trout was cooked as this was like nothing I'd had before, it was pink slightly smoked and melted in your mouth, the Chef took time out (whilst obviously busy) to explained it was sea trout and how it was cooked. It definitely felt like a personal dining experience and will definitely be booking again soon. Excellent standard, excellent staff!

We had a fabulous evening meal for my birthday at the restaurant. The service, attention to detail, food and drink was of the highest standard. It was so amazing to have a magical quality meal worthy of a Michelin star in our home county of Derbyshire. Hidden gem! Thoroughly recommend for a special occasion. Thank you to Mark, Sharron and Amie for making my birthday unforgettable.

Food was outstanding. Much better than the average pub lunch, even if they were slightly stingey with the (excellent) roast potatoes (though maybe we're just greedy). Sadly though the part of the pub we were seated in was really cold which made it much less enjoyable. Also they only had one real ale on tap and that was just a Spitfire. These issues seem pretty easy to resolve and hopefully they'll do so in future as we would definitely come back for the lovely food.
