We didn't have a bad time and the food was edible. The food just wasn't good. The pie was not at all good and I genuinely would rather have had a Greggs steak bake. And that would have been a tenth of the price. My partner ordered scampy and chips, the scampy seemed like it was frozen food warmed up too long. She also would have preferred a Greggs steak bake. Other comments have said that it seems that the food is a warm-up job which is fine if that is what you are paying for, however, at £16.95 for a bang average pie. Could have fed an entire family at Greggs for that price. I wouldn't eat here again. The service was ok, waiter wasn't friendly but neither unfriendly. OK seems to sum up our evening.

There was a fun photo in the gents though.

Gorgeous little country pub. Friendly and helpful staff. Very generous portion sizes and great value for money. The BBQ ribs were amazing, the best I've ever had. Shame it's a 3 hour drive from home or I'd visit more often

The food, ambience and service has always been good and we've come here many times. However, today was very disappointing. After a 45 minute wait our roasts eventually arrived and it was obvious it had been plated and then left to stand for a long time. Potatoes hard, meat cold, veg lukewarm. Desserts took nearly as long to arrive, happily they were fine. Understaffed with only very young servers, it would have been better not to accept so many bookings. Really disappointed as celebrating husband's 75th birthday.

Really lovey quiet pub/restaurant, tucked out of the way, dog friendly. The food was really good and staff were friendly.

Fast, friendly service, good portions and prices! Would recommend if you're wanting a spacious, traditional pub with a generous outside seating area!
