Popped in here simply for the free WIFI – now there’s an admission.

It looks pretty impressive from the outside, the half-timbered exterior could almost be Tudor rather than mock Tudor (which it obviously is). Inside it’s really very small with two unbelievably decrepit bar areas. Don’t think they’ve been cleaned, let-alone decorated for years and the seating is falling apart.

There is however a very nicely carved oak bar which is probably the most attractive thing about the place.

Really, the place needs thoroughly renovating by someone before the place dies a slow self-inflicted death.

A Marstons house with Marstons wishy-washy Burton Bitter and Wychwood Hobgoblin.

Looks like a great pub from outside, inside the set up is odd the décor is to be questioned. The ale was off had to leave it. Really wouldn't recommend when there are so many other great pubs around

Brilliant lunch! Thanks very much to the staff for a very warm welcome this afternoon - 6 of us around the big table in the bar. Pulled Pork sandwich was great - 3 of us enjoyed it, the perfect light lunch, and reasonably priced, including a hot drink. Apparently we were the first to have lunch here, good luck for the future, cheers!

Now under new ownership and no longer a Marstons Pub, new management and a couple of friendly staff, doing well especially taking on a pub in these hard times
Good to see that the landlord is cracking down on drugs and anti social behaviour
Shame more pubs dont do the same

When walking through Leek, your eyes are automatically drawn to this magnificent architectural construction on the corner of The Marketplace and Sheepmarket St.
Drop in and you will find a small, but quaint old-fashioned Public House with a friendly welcome.
Try their new range of Gins or have a coffee & cake for a bargain price.
I have and I will again.

Dropped in with family on a day out... comfortable, great for people watching in the town. Extremely well priced, good old traditional pub with pleasant outdoor area if required ..
