Had a Sunday roast here today, will definitely go back. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was like a friendly local regardless of who you were. My Husband absolutely loved it and said the roast potatoes were as good as his Mums!! Very highly recommend 😁

What a brilliant pub. Great food at a reasonable price. Excellent landlord and helpers with great beer. The Sunday roast is nothing short of fantastic with plenty of choice. Our family go there on a regular basis. Do not be fooled by the outside. The welcome is warm and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

What a find. Fantastic pub on the outskirts of wells, the car park is spacious and wheelchair accessible. Outside seating area is snug and comfortable. They have a pool table, seating area inside is comfortable and it has a traditional pub decor inside. Barman was very friendly and welcoming. All in all its a decent pub.

Lovely pub but decor is looking tired. Always made to fill very wecome and nothing is to much trouble. It reminds me of the Rovers return in corry. Full of locals. Don't no if they do hot pot but they do some lovely home made food.

Booked the function room recently for my grandmother's wake, the function room turned out to be triple booked on the day but we said we would work it out. Had the wake in the function room but was moved into the bar as the double booking arrived and then as the triple booking arrived and they wanted us out of the bar a cheap local radio station was played unbearably loud so that we could not continue our conversations. Greedy, awful behaviour. 1 star for good food though.

My husband and I s decided to stop at this place on the way home from Wells, the reviews on both Google and trip advisor had mostly been really positive so we were expecting amazing home cooked food. The pies were no longer available so my husband opted for the lasagna which arrived as a melted mess, he said it was one of the worse Lasagnas' he had ever eaten. I ordered the cottage pie, I was given a good portion but it looked more like a school dinner and was just as tasteless. This place was totally underwhelming and we are both still struggling to comprehend how it has received such good reviews.

It may well have *been* a great local but, unlike it states on this site, it's no longer open for business. Having walked there last night in hope of a pint and a pie I discovered it shut up and kegs barring the car park. After getting back to the cottage I googled local news to find that the previous landlords retired a month ago and no replacements yet found.
