Really good local pub serving excellently kept Young's beer plus a good selection of other drinks. Jack and Denise took over the running of the pub in late 2013 and have gradually improved the place, introducing Sky/BT Sport, a jukebox and bringing a new crowd to the place which is great to see.

A great little Youngs pub. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Well kept beer, very reasonably priced (around £3.40 for a pint of bitter). Has comedy and live music in the back on Tuesdays. Has a tv in the front for football/rugby. No annoying background music blaring over your conversation, either.

Amazingly, two traditional "proper" pubs survive on opposite corners of York Square and this is one of them. The other is the Old Ship and I recommend visiting both. The Queen's Head has two large bars, with the main bar showing sport on TV. A reasonable selection of drinks and a good atmosphere and it's dog-friendly.

Nice pub, several hand-pulled beers. My vote would go to the Old Ship across the square though, for a slightly nicer atmosphere and the chance to sit outside

I used to drink here in the 70's and 80's. I remember it it as a great local, full of life with great beer. It's a bit run down now and cash only.

Beautiful old East End pub, and it is a relief that it hasn't been converted into flats by developers. The recent changes mean there is only one real ale on tap, Young's bitter, and sadly it isn't kept as well as it used to be.

1st time I've been here and loved it. Nice old pub they do a good pint and the staff are nice. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I payed for 2 Coke's at £1 then later payed £2 for the same 2 Coke's clearly it was a genuine mistake being under charged but it could have been a much bigger round where I get over charged. It won't stop me going there again as its a friendly place for a drink.
