The Lockhart Tavern

Awsome chicken wings, and great crispy chicken burger. Good variety of beers. I came here off a recomemdation, and it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff, good to here for families and friends.

Delicious Sunday roast at this quaint pub. Our party had the beef, lamb shank, and pork belly - all delicious. Great Korean chicken wings too for started which was a nice touch. Was also very impressed with the extensive craft beers on tap too, with some great local options - definitely try the Lewes dank IPA!

We would 100% recommend! The food was really delicious and the frozen margaritas were far too tasty! In addition the service was top notch and it was also really dog friendly. This was our first visit to Haywards Heath but we would definitely visit again.

Absolutely lovely evening here. Very busy popular venue. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was just Fantastic! I had the Vegan Cauliflower burger and Chips …just excellent and I can highly recommend the Mac n Cheese bites. Forgot to take my phone so no pic this time but I can assure you it is well worth a Visit 🤗🤗

We were trying somewhere new for a change. Trip advisor gave good reviews.
What a lovely place. The staff were very friendly and the food was good. There were only 2 chefs but they managed extremely well getting plates out as the tavern was full to capacity!
We had the Camembert starter followed by steak.
My husbands rib eye was perfect - medium rare, tasty and tender.
Sadly mine was very undercooked. They kindly reflashed the steak and it came back medium rare. But maybe it was the supplier as it was a tough cut of rib eye. Hard to cut and hard to chew. There was no problem at all with returning the steak. It was disappointing as my husband gave me a couple of slices while I was waiting for my replacement meal. His was delicious and I really wanted steak.
I had the chicken wings instead.
This is in our opinion not their fault at all.
The only reason I am mentioning it as they graciously did not charge for my meal at all. The steak meal was £29. This did compensate a little to the fact I was eating my meal with my husband having finished his.
That was very kind, thank you Lockhart Tavern.
The wonderful young lady looking after us that evening was very sweet and asked us if we would be coming back!
I must say the burgers that leave the bar looked incredible.
So next time we are dining in Haywards Heath it’s a yes!

We called up and managed to get squeezed in for a last minute Sunday roast. Upon arriving, they quickly noticed I was on crutches and managed to sort out a table for us in the dining area to save me from using the bar stools. We were served by Matt who was an absolute star, so attentive, friendly and perceptive. I ordered the 3 course set menu as I had been recommended the Korean chicken wings and I am so glad I tried them. They were delicious!! My partner tried some of mine and Matt noticed and brought over a small plate for her too.
Best wings we have ever had!!

Selection of drinks was lovely (including a good choice of non standard soft drinks), and refreshing to see half pints being offered at 50% of a full pint, so great for trying a few of their fantastic local selection.

I had the roast beef and my partner had the pork belly. Neither of us have had a roast as good as this in a very long time! Both the beef and the pork were cooked to absolute perfection.

Nothing was too much effort for Matt who made us feel incredibly welcome. The food and service were fantastic. Thank you Matt, the chefs and all of the other waiting staff for a wonderful dining experience.

Came here to try out the Sunday Roast as I've heard good things about it. It was quite delicious though personally I felt the roast potatoes were a bit too dry for my tastes. The Yorkshire Pudding was fantastic though as was the Roast Beef.

For starters I had the Korean glazed chicken wings which were heavenly and I would highly recommend them.

Tonight. I genuinely had the best experience dining out I've had since I've suffered with my severe nut allergy.

The food was beyond our expectations, we couldn't fault both the visual presentation of each dish and the taste. Out of this world.

All the staff were extremely accommodating, they looked after my mother with a broken foot, and were also very considerate with my allergy. After I gave them an idea as to what I wanted they then reassured me that they secured a separate wiped down station to cater for my allergens, fresh pairs of gloves when handling the food and checked on us regularly to ensure our experience was above and beyond.

The Lockhart Tavern certainly achieved this, and if I had more friends and family this way, I will always recommend the guys and girls who bring strength to this establishment!
