Even before lockdown this was a favourite of mine.

Beautiful old building with bags of character. Friendly staff ready to guide you through the range of beers available. Not sure what you want, they will ask you what you like and makes ace suggestions.

Been back since Covid and one of the few places taking their responsibilities seriously. Enter via the side gate, not through the pub, straight in to the beer garden. Before entering you have to provide your details and have temperature taken, you're then shown to your table. Drinks are served via table service and bill's settled at the end.

The pub is run by Grain who are a superb brewery boardering Norfolk and Suffolk. They have a wide range of beers to suit all tastes.

Really nice place. Lovely beer garden. Proper sun trap! Nice house gin and friendly staff. Oldest pub in Ipswich. Not serving food right now due to covid and no seating indoors (covid). Great place!

first time coming to this pub, it was my friends birthday celebration so we went on a night out! intended on a quick spontaneous drink before hitting the clubs but ended up staying as the staff were very welcoming and accommodating despite our outfits😂 great drinks at a decent price, and they had a really talented live singer performing, who was really engaging, they even let him perform for 10 more minutes so we could dance! loved it, will definitely be backkkkk

It’s nice on the side that’s about it, young female says manager has the personality of a plastic teaspoon, site smells like a JDW - old man and stale baby juice) - open a window.

Look at the outside and carry on walking, many many better places in Ipswich.

Nice vibe, well kept beer (Grain brewery) and friendly staff. I've mostly just stopped in for a pint but have also seen some live music (associated with the Ipswich Jazz Festival) and apparently they have a quiz night on a Wednesday at the moment. There's also food but I think I've only ever had the odd snack. All in all a decent pub, especially being this close to the town centre.

Nice cosy pub. Friendly staff. Nice beer. They also have a good selection of bar games and a nice wood burning fire to keep warm to on cold Winter days.

Excellent pub, often with a beer event/tap takeover on. Lovely atmosphere, great staff.
Recently had a superb hot buttered rum!

Warm, welcoming pub with a great selection of spirits, ales and larger.
Lots of areas to sit, perch or stand at the bar.
Definitely a good place to go for a drink. Not many of these "wet" pubs left now so please call in and support your local.
