Little gem of the beaten track. Sunday lunch at £21pp for 3 course meal. Booking a must due to limited seating.

Great countryside pub with plenty of little rooms and nooks to explore. We felt welcome the moment we walked in. Whilst I can't comment on the food as we didnt have any, the ales were great, a couple of lagers on tap and ususal suspects as regards spirits and a few different gin types from what I noticed. Definitely a place to stop off if you're thirsty, dogs were welcomed from what I saw too.

This is my first review I have wrote and unfortunately it's a negative one.
Me and my mother in law had a meal today and we had to wait over 1 hour I understand this is the eat out scheme but the food its self was diabolical I no my photos don't show a lot but our entire experience was appalling the only positive was the girl serving us ran around ragged and tried to keep a positive attitude.
We had two mixed grills but could of been called dog food sorry to be blunt but I took the meat home for my dog.
Its was all over cooked to the point it was rubber and the egg I've never seen such an atrocity I'd expect better in a road side cafe
I will never return and only wish to share my review so people don't experience the same as we did.

We had tried to book some weeks ago, to be told "sorry we are fully booked" so to be ahead I booked a week in advance this time.
Was it worth the wait, oh yes the guest ale was superb and the Sunday lunch.. Well outstanding.
I had the white bait and the beef and my partner had the mushroom starter and pork loin, main, both the starters and mains were large portions and well presented.
With the mains served on piping hot plates, waitered by a very polite and attentive member of staff.
What stood out for us was the warm and friendly atmosphere, a cosy log fire and the jolly personality of the landlord, who, from the moment you meet him has a welcoming smile, a warm personality that lifts your mood.
This is not going to be the last we visit The Crown.
Thank you for a memorable Sunday lunch.

Always a good welcome and a range of decent beers with the fascinating walled garden close at hand.

A brilliant little local find, good drinks and fine food in an original, some might say olde world type of pub. Would make an ideal stop on a country walk too.

Sunday lunch, we had the latest booking 3:30 it was a nice day but not overly busy,
We were offered a choice of tables including the old cellar (different) but nice,
The service was excellent from a very polite young man,
A good choice of ales where on offer although not the cheapest!
Sunday lunch was the menu, the food was excellent, roast beef was my choice and my wife’s but how we like it couldn’t be more different I like rare she likes well done, neither of us was disappointed, the crab starter was lovely too as was the cheesecake dessert, all in a very relaxed enjoyable experience we will definitely be back
