Visited Friday evening for a drink and booked a table for Sunday lunch. Absolutely first class in all respects. Bar staff were very welcoming and friendly, as were the locals.
On the Sunday we had a beautiful roast dinner that was cooked to perfection, again welcoming and friendly staff and good value for the quality of the meal and drinks.
Worth every one of the 142 miles to travel there so if you are passing pip in and enjoy this hidden gem. Thank you all...

I never normally order a curry in a pub as it is usually a disappointment. I happen to know this chef is good with his herbs and spices so I ordered the Thai chicken curry and was not disappointed. The combination of spices, fragrant herbs and a little sweetness was perfect for me and rivaled any I have had at Thai restaurants before. My daughter said "The best fish and chips ever" ( she was able to order a smaller portion from the adult menu which suited her). The butterfly prawn starter was delicious and the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie are also legendary. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Fabulous gin menu. What is not to like? Highly recommend to anyone.

Stopped off here on a walk. Staff were very welcoming. Food and drink was fantastic. Chilli nachos definitely recommend. Dog friendly.
Thank you for a lovely break in our journey.

Friendly landlord, great ale. It is a real shame that he is unable to serve food at the moment.

Last Sunday my family had Sunday lunch at the Lion Inn as my niece lives in the village and what a treat it was. The food was very good plentiful and tasty. All the staff were very friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. The pub itself is very welcoming a beautiful setting. As it was very busy it is probably best to book a table. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

Came here for a drink recently. Nice pub. Good beer. However I saw a conversation between a member of management (I think) and a couple having dinner. I found this person to be very confrontational to the customers who seemed to just be providing some feedback on the food. Considering how friendly the rest of the staff were I was shocked to hear this from management. Not impressed.

Had really good mains, the belly pork was delicious. Cosy and welcome atmosphere. Staff were attentive and friendly. Puddings were mixed- good pavlova trifle but the brownie wasn't great.
