The Bird In Hand

Couldn't fault the food or value. Staff are all incredibly friendly and attentive. Will definitely be visiting again over the summer

It was a quick stopfor a drink before our train arrived. Services was great. Has a lovely garden.

The bird in hand is one of the most welcoming places you'll ever visit. Cleanliness is spot on, the staff go above and beyond, genuinely caring and provide a top notch service. The Sunday carvery was a pleasant surprise, portions of meat are very generous and the beef is melt in your mouth tender, gravy that packs a flavourful punch combined with the extras, will definitely be going again.

Love this place. It’s a REAL pub. Great range of ales, nice food and fabulous service. Bar area, lounge with real fire and a lovely outdoor area. The staff are great. You can try thirds of all the ales. #RealAle

In my opinion, the best pub/food combination in Stafford. It's owned by Black Country Ales, so you're guaranteed a good choice of ales (usually at least 10), but unlike a lot of their pubs this one serves meals (and not just bar snacks).
There's plenty to good value options to choose from on the menu, and there's a seniors menu too (it says you have to be older than the landlord to qualify for it!) .
Meals are large and usually arrive quickly to your table

Me and my wife, found this lovely pub when we come to meet some good friends for a drink. We had some food, my wife loves good old fashion pub grub. The pub has a great atmosphere with open fires and lovely staff, which are willing to help in anyway they can. And being Vegan the staff went out of their way to provide me with vegan options

Was here for a Civil Partnership reception on Saturday.
Old pib vibes inside with a more modern outside seating space (lots of seats & rain cover)
The staff were all friendly & helpful
The buffet food was a good standard
The atmosphere was nice
Loos, we're well kept.
I think we might try their Sunday carvery soon sounds nice.

Proper old pub come restaurant, lots of rooms with ample space and wood fires in each room, also a large outdoor area.
Great selection of real ales at a reasonable prices.
Good menu and children's menu at good prices, this is a very friendly and clean premises, best pub in Stafford.
You will not be dissapointed.
