Great food, great atmosphere, turn up early if you want Sunday roast, it gets busy and I don't believe you can make a reservation, however if you do miss out on the roast there are other options available from the menu and specials board so you won't go hungry.

Went for lunch while on a circular walk. Good menu of mainly pub classics plus a specials board with 6 or so extra items. Not expensive. Probably not the widest choice to evaluate on as we had 2 beef lasagna, 1 veggie lasagna and a beef and ale pie. All good sizes, nice veg or salad and tasty. Will be going again if I'm in the area.

Food not as good as it used to be.as you can see the pastry was very hard and the meat was very bland. service very good. staff very clean and friendly.i believe it as been taken over by new landlady.

Went for a family meal, portions are on the small size. We ordered Thai mussels and prawns from the specials - this is not what I would consider Thai style at all - it's just mussels and prawns with a sweet chilli dipping sauce poured over the top. Children's cheese burger had grated cheddar on top and the sirloin steak was thin and fatty.
Staff friendly and helpful, environment clean and pleasant but I think the kitchen needs reviewing.

Stopped here to eat after a day out.
Asked for a med/rare steak but it came out close to well done, both meals were advertised with onion rings - only onion on plates were sliced raw red onion with the salad and several of the chips were not cooked and inedible.
Most annoying problem in any food establishment- if you are going to offer steak on the menu and you ask the Customer 'How they would like it cooked?' You need to have a chef who can deliver!!

Passed by today as fire service were putting out the fire that has engulfed & destroyed this once beautiful inn. My heart, thoughts & prayers go out to the owners, residents & staff here. I pray that everyone is safe & well.
I pray that any loss anyone suffers is minimal. I wish you all good health moving forward.

We drove past on our holiday and loved the flowers outside and just how pretty it looked so a couple of days later we popped in for lunch. The menu is pretty much the standard pub affair but the food is delicious and the staff helpful and polite 😋
