Fab place for a nice meal.
Very friendly, attentive and professional staff.
Food is great - very good quality and tasty.
I will definitely have another meal or few drinks at the Owl and I definitely recommend a visit.

We were arranging a wedding reception at relatively short notice (less than 3 months) and Philippa and her staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating (even the request of a mojito toast!) They helped us organise the evening, recommended a fantastic photographer (Bethany) and provided us with a memorable and wonderful evening. We had an amazing day, all the staff were absolutely lovely and the food was good too. The function room was done simply as we’d requested but the atmosphere on the evening was perfect and we can’t thank everyone involved enough.

We went to York races on Friday the 7/10/2022 and went for our breakfast at The Owl Hotel. We were the last table to be served but everything was still piping hot, cooked perfectly and the service was brilliant. There were over 40 of us and they did an exceptional job.

Large comfortable room with kingsize bed. Fairly clean and with the usual tea and coffee offerings. No complimentary shampoo or shower gel unfortunately. I had to leave before breakfast so can't comment on it.

Important context: My experience was a 1 night stay and does not represent this establishment in it's entirety. No-one in hospitality sets out to provide a poor experience. Anyone can have an off day

Only stayed one night. Comfy bed ,good night sleep. We arrived was told which room we were in .Booked in . Not told anything about breakfast, but was charged £9+ for large breakfast ,2 of everything. My wife and I didn't manage to eat it all. If we had been asked we would have chosen the smaller breakfast.
It was well cooked and we enjoyed what we had but such a waste of food

Had the Sunday roast, huge portions and delicious. Friendly staff as well and food came quickly.

From walking in to leaving we felt welcome, cared for, and was professionally catered for. The food was exceptional it was hot tasty and fresh. Very good value for money . I honestly couldn't fault anything . It was a totally excellent meal.
