We decided to stop off here on our way back from Birmingham and it doesn’t disappoint as a lovely country pub. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is a lot of the food was out of stock and not all craft ales on the menu were sold at the bar. There was on older lady behind the till who had a bit of an attitude but to be honest I think she was just fed up because they seemed short staffed. There is a lovely quiet area to sit outside and nice traditional seating inside.

Nice pub located in Strelley Village out the way. Large beer garden and car park. Has guest ales on tap that change frequently. Nice friendly atmosphere and service. Great pub to visit for a pint after a walk. Went for food and drink this evening with a friend. Food was excellent value for money and very tasty. Excellent friendly service. Will definitely return. Returned, still excellent food and offers during the week. Great value and friendly service.

A nice quaint pub with an olde world feel. Nice staff, quick service. Family friendly with beer garden front and back
A good stop off from a walk at Oldmoor wood at the other side of Strelley village

Went for a meal here Saturday lunchtime it was a ridiculous long wait for food took approximately 2 hours for main to arrive some of my mixed grill was lukewarm to overcooked chicken breast, our starters were the same very poor, my son ordered on the app drinks arrived within minutes .
not enough staff

in response to the owners reply my review doesn’t help i disagree it is a fair & honest review of my visit to your pub i wasn’t the only customer who experienced very poor service & the managers poor attitude.
stop taking food orders if you are not able to provide a satisfactory service

After walking from ilkeston, I decided this would be a great place to stop off. I wasn't disappointed either.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was well presented and tasted great.
Great atmosphere too.
Fantastic beer garden too when the weather permits!

Popped in here at lunchtime by chance and wow really pleased we did! Were made to feel really welcome, lots more tables than I thought having never been in before and great for anyone with mobility issues as all on one level. Wide choice on menu and great offers too, e.g. two meals for £12.99. The food was hot, tasty and didn't feel mass-produced. Will definitely visit again.

Went with my family, 2 adults had the mix grill which they loved. I had a Sunday roast which was melt in the mouth and and 2 children had a burger, portion size was fine even tho older one asked why he didn't have more chips as ge had ordered off the bigger appetite menu and the burger buns were a bit more toasted than they would normally have. We had a slight wait on the food and they weren't busy but it was worth it. This was our first visit here for an evening meal and shall be coming back again and also to try their lunchtime offers too.

Really disappointed and unwell after leaving......The food here is shocking and made me very unwell after leaving. A real shame especially when it's location is perfect for those lovely walks through miles of countryside with friends and family. Unfortunately the only positive is mobile App ordering and dog friendly. That's as good as it gets.... sorry.
